Van Leeuwen Ice Cream (9 min) – Classic flavors, wild combos, and vegan options that actually taste good.
Franklin Fountain (30 min) – An old-school soda shop with house-made ice cream, floats, and sundaes worth the walk.

History & Museums:
Philadelphia Museum of Art (34 min/13 min drive) – Home to world-class art and the Rocky Steps. Whether you’re here for Monet or a montage moment, you win.
The Barnes Foundation (23 min) – An incredible collection of Impressionist and modern art.
Walks & Fresh Air:
Rittenhouse Square (9 min) – Maryrose’s favorite park and a perfect spot to relax, people-watch, or enjoy a coffee.
Schuylkill River Trail (22 min) – A scenic path along the river, great for a stroll or a quick escape from the city.
Love Park (9 min) – Home to the famous LOVE statue, a great photo spot and a lively plaza in the heart of the city.

First Comes Love, Then Comes Cheesesteaks:
Angelo’s Pizzeria (25-minute walk / 10-minute drive) - More than just great pizza, Angelo’s is famous for its cheesesteaks made with house-baked bread and high-quality meats. Be prepared for a line—it’s worth the wait!
Cleavers (9-minute walk) - John’s favorite! If you’re craving a cheesesteak or just a really good sandwich, Cleavers has you covered. Known for its generous portions and fresh ingredients, they serve up classic cheesesteaks with a variety of cheese and topping options.
Pat’s King of Steaks & Geno’s Steaks (35-minute walk / 12-minute drive) - The famous rivalry! Pat’s claims to have invented the cheesesteak, while Geno’s is known for its bright lights and signature thinly sliced steak. Try both and decide for yourself! Maryrose has done this in one sitting—it’s possible.
Dalessandro’s Steaks & Hoagies (25-minute drive) -
Maryrose’s favorite! Dalessandro’s is a Philly staple, known for its finely chopped steak, perfectly melted cheese, and fresh rolls. Many locals argue it’s the best cheesesteak in the city.
Tip: It’s cash only. Also, call ahead to order!
