Where can we stay?
Please check the travel tab for a variety of accommodation options. Be sure to book accommodations in advance, as this is a popular travel destination and places do book up! You may want to request a late check out if you are checking out the day of the wedding.
What is the dress code?
The dress code is garden formal, so we invite you to dress-up with us. We would love to see colours! Please no denim or casual wear (cowboy boots are always formal in our eyes)
Are kids welcome?
We love your kids and they have a special place in our hearts! For this day though, it will be an adults only event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and so you can celebrate with us. If you are traveling for our wedding and need support in finding childcare options in the area, please contact us.
When can we arrive for the ceremony?
Guests are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony starting, and no earlier than one hour before if you are setting up camping accommodations.
Can we take pictures through the ceremony?
We will be having an unplugged ceremony, which means all cellphones and camera's must be off and put away for the duration of the ceremony. We have hired amazing professionals to take photos and videos, we trust them to capture the special moments. We invite you to be present with us. Please take as many pictures as you would like at the reception! We are so excited to share these memories with you.
What do we do after the Ceramony?
After the ceremony we invite guests to head to the tent and grab a drink for cocktail hour. The wedding party and family will be taking photos at this time and will join you after for the reception.
Is there transportation?
The Barker's Farm is a 20 minute drive from Wiarton, and a 10 minute drive to Lions Head. Unfortunately, we do not have access to taxies or ubers in this rural area. All guests will need a sober ride home, or are welcome to camp on the property over night.
Where do we park?
Parking will be from the second driveway, leading to a field that will be dedicated to parking and camping. Signs will be visible marking where to go. Please do not pull into the main driveway.
Whats the Bathroom Situation?
There will be bathrooms provided , located halfway between the reception area and the camping area, which will continue to be avalible to the campers through your stay. Directions will be provied with signs. Please do not go to the house for the bathroom.
What’s the bar situation?
We will be having an open bar with an optional donation jar. "His and Hers" signature cocktails will be served until after dinner. Once dinner is finished only beer and coolers will be served for the remainder of the night. Each table will also be offered bottles of wine with dinner.
What’s for dinner?
Options are still being explored and the website will be updated closer to the wedding
What shoes should I wear?
Because the wedding will be outdoors and in the fields, we would recommend shoes that will not sink into the ground. Be aware that some of the ground will be uneven because of the natural landscape.
What will the weather be like?
Mid-July is a warm time of year in the area. The wedding ceremony will be outside in the sun, and the reception will be outdoors in a tent. Wear your sunscreen! Fans will be provided to help you keep cool.
What if I can't make it to the wedding?
We will sure miss you but we completely understand. If you are unable to make it please RSVP "No", so we can plan accordingly.
