Our Wedding

Matt and Shawna met the way many do in todays world, online! He sent a cheesy pickup line, which surprisingly charmed her and they began chatting. Matt asked Shawna on a date and she sent him the address of her Gabba's apartment to pick her up. To Matt's surprise, Shawna sent him HIS address! He lived in the same building, one floor up. Shawna and Matt met downstairs of the building. They left for their first date, going bowling and then a cold, late night walk in the park with the snow falling peacefully. Conversation was so easy and the date lasted hours because they couldn't stop talking, with growing excitement as they got to know each other. Shawna's Gabba was initially worried about this random guy her granddaughter met on the internet who lived in her building, but Matt wanted to ease her mind. They pulled into the foodland parking lot so he could buy Gabba some flowers. They pulled up next to the only other car in the parking lot and Shawna looked over and saw it was her brother and his friends. Shawna laughed and told Matt "I know its a little fast, but you're about to meet my brother". They all had a good laugh and Matt and Shawna finished the rest of their date. Gabba was charmed by the flowers, giving her seal of approval. Matt and Shawna quickly planned a second date, then many more after. Both agree that their best first date was also their last.

All guests need a sober ride home if not staying on the premise

Guests are welcome (and encouraged!) to bring tents and trailers to camp the night of the wedding. Guests may arrive one hour prior to the ceremony to set up their camping accommodations. Guests may alternatively set up their accommodations the day prior so it is ready for when you arrive on the day of the wedding, although we do ask that no one stay on the property the night before to allow for privacy for the bridal party. For out of town guests, you also have the option to find accomidations for the night before, and then camp on the property night of. Trailer rentals can likely be found online if you would like to look into renting a trailer and renting a site at the Hope Bay Campground.

Camping at the Barker's Farm

There are some cottages for rent in Hope Bay or near by which can be found online at Air BnB and other websites. Alternatively, if you scroll down you will find many other accommodation options listed
