Matt and Michelle’s love story began on their first date at Left Hand Brewery in Longmont, Colorado. What was supposed to be a quick dinner and drinks turned into a night they’ll never forget. They laughed, talked for hours, and stayed until closing, outlasting even the rain. Michelle remembers laughing so much her cheeks hurt and feeling instantly drawn to Matt’s openness and gift for storytelling. When he told her he might be too open and wore his heart on his sleeve, her heart felt tender and she thought he’d make an amazing friend—little did she know, he’d become so much more.
Matt felt the same spark right away. After a brief moment of panic thinking he had the wrong place, he found Michelle on the garden patio and was completely captivated by her beauty. Despite being a little nervous, her warmth, humor, and quick wit put him at ease, and they spent the evening lost in conversation. Matt was smitten from the start, and as they spent more time together, his feelings only grew deeper.
Just a few months into dating, Matt had a tough fall that landed him in the ER. Michelle rushed to Denver, staying by his side late into the night. It was then, with his heart-on-his-sleeve defenses down, that Matt finally told her he loved her—something hed been holding back for a while.
Michelle has always encouraged Matt to step outside his comfort zone and to see more beauty in the world, and he’s her rock, always showing up in ways she’s never experienced. Together, they balance each other perfectly, with their relationship built on love, laughter, and a deep friendship.
In September 2023, they embarked on their first international trip to Norway and Iceland together, where Matt proposed, sealing their love in the most magical way. Since then, their bond has only grown stronger. Whether they’re traveling, skiing, paddleboarding, or enjoying concerts, they find joy in every adventure together.
With their incredible dog, Ruby, by their side, Matt and Michelle are ready to begin this exciting new chapter. They’re thrilled to be surrounded by family and friends as they celebrate their love and continue to inspire the best in each other.
