Q + A

Can I bring a guest/date?

Your invitation will be made out to "{Your Name} & Guest" if a plus one has been given to you. We unfortunately cannot accommodate additional guests.

What happens if I do not RSVP in time?

If we do not receive your RSVP by April 27, it will be marked as "No." We will miss you celebrating with us, however we have to provide a total guest count to our vendors in the time frame given to us. Thank you for understanding!

Is there a dress code?

Yes. The dress code is Semi-Formal Garden Party attire. We recommend a suit (ties are optional), and cocktail dresses. No jeans please! Additionally, our ceremony will be held outside on soft grass. So, ladies, be mindful of your choice of heels!

Are there any colors to avoid?

We kindly ask that you refrain from wearing colors typically reserved for the bride: white, ivory, nude, etc.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors. We recommend a light jacket for the later part of the evening.

Can I take photos during the ceremony for social media?

Our ceremony will be completely unplugged. Therefore, we kindly ask that all guests refrain from any photography or recording during the ceremony. We would like to preserve the intimacy and spontaneity of our special day as much as possible. And, don't worry, we have an amazing photographer who will capture every important moment!

How does seating work?

The ceremony will be open seating, so sit wherever you please! However, we are requesting that you avoid the first 3 rows on each side at the ceremony for our immediate family and wedding party. For the reception, we are not assigning seats and tables for dinner.

What time should I arrive at the venue/What should I do if I am late?

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. We recommend guests arrive at 4:30, so there is ample time to mingle and find a seat. If you happen to be late, someone will let you know if guests are still being allowed in, or if you have to wait until the ceremony is over. If this happens, hang tight, and we will see you at the reception!

Will there be transportation provided?

If you are staying at the Heritage Hotel in Southbury or the Wyndham Southbury, we will have a shuttle bus running to and from the G.W. Tavern, for ease of transit. Bear in mind that the drive to the venue is approximately 20 minutes by car, and 30 minutes by shuttle bus. If you cannot take the shuttle, we recommend carpooling, as parking at the venue is VERY limited.
