Q&A

Where am I going?

McCloud, California, U.S.A! It’s a sleepy, historic lumber town where everything is close together. The ceremony, vow exchange, and reception are all within a short jaunt of each other. If you are traveling, see our dedicated “Travel” page for some nearby ideas of where you can stay.

When should I be there?

Please arrive at the church early at around 2:00pm to allow time for getting seated and settled. The ceremony begins promptly at 2:30pm! We’d hate for you to miss the ceremony! The ceremony will last up to 1 hour.

How’s the parking?

Super easy. The town of McCloud is small and easy to get around. There’s plenty of street parking. A plus: the church and venue are right across the street from one another, so there will be no need to move your car once it’s been parked!

Can I bring…?

A “plus one”? A friend? My kids? A pet? Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your RSVP, as this is a small venue and we are limited on headcount.

Does your wedding have a theme?

Yes! Think “whimsical” and “travel”. If “Around the World in Eighty Days” and “The Lord of the Rings” hosted a Fall event, it might look something like our wedding.

What should I wear?

Not white! 😜 The dress code is: formal! Ladies, dress yourself in any lovely fancy evening gown you’ve been dying to wear. Gentlemen, pull out that dashing suit you have in your closet that we know you have!

Am I allowed to take photos or videos?

The couple kindly requests that all electronic devices are completely turned off for the ceremony. There will be a professional photographer capturing these precious moments. And no, YOU are NOT the professional photographer. 😜 Photos/videos are encouraged after the ceremony!

How’s the weather going to be?

Bring layers and be prepared for anything (sunshine, rain, and possibly a light dusting of snow, etc.). McCloud sits at 3,271 feet / 997 meters above sea level, so November can get cold as we head into the winter months (30° F/-1° C), but the days are temperate (63° F/17° C). It might be a warm afternoon that cools down quickly in the evening, or it might be an afternoon of precipitation. Who knows! Fortunately, McCloud is used to fluctuating weather. If it is snowing, the roads will be plowed (often and early!) and salted. It is a difficult time of year to predict the weather, so be prepared and bring layers. That being said, the ceremony and reception are both indoors!

Can I bring food or drinks?

Our venue will be providing all food and beverages during our reception. Luckily for you, this is not a BYOB shindig. 🍻🥂🍹🍾🍷

Is transportation provided?

No, please arrange your own transportation.

Where should I bring/send a wedding gift?

There will be a dedicated table at the reception for gifts and cards. Please reach out to the bride and groom for any other arrangements.
