Our Wedding

Sabrina and Matt first remember noticing each other in middle school during a seventh grade English project. Let me set the scene for you- its a project presentation day, and the project was to describe the theme of the novel the class had read in a creative way. Matt decides to play guitar while singing a song to the class, where as Sabrina decides she's going to make a rap and perform that in front of the entire class- very on brand for both of them. While that is their earliest (and funniest) memory of each other, they did not truly become friendly until high school. Sabrina's friend group and Matt's friend group merged into one, and soon they all began seeing each other frequently at sports games, bonfires, parties, and high school dances. They joke now about how both of them thought the other was cute, but they were both too nervous to make a move. Flash forward to a few years later, it is New Year's Eve in 2015. Sabrina is home from college where she is in her sophomore year of nursing school, and Matt is home on leave from the Marines. They both get invited to the same New Year's Eve party, and at this party is where they reconnect over their love of music and their desire to help other people in their career. This is where their love story truly begins. When the ball dropped at midnight and they shared a New Year's Eve kiss, they both had no idea they would be sharing all of their future years together. Shortly after this party, Matt had to return to his base in Jacksonville, NC and Sabrina had to return to her college in Garden City, NY. For the next two and a half years, they maintained a long distance relationship. For 8 of those months, Matt was away at sea and was virtually unreachable by phone. They wrote letters to each other, spoke on the phone every other Sunday (which was as often as possible), and dreamed of each other while they were worlds apart. They both knew that what they had was too important to let something silly like distance ruin it. When Matt came home from his deployment, they remember talking about how if they made it through all of those months apart, they could make it through anything. During their long distance relationship, they made every attempt to see each other. They went to Lake George, Rangers games, saw sunsets at the beach together. Sabrina drove down from NY to NC with a friend just to see him for one day, &amp; Matt took Sabrina as his date to the USMC Ball. Before they knew it, it was June of 2018. Sabrina had just graduated with her BSN and was studying for her NCLEX, and Matt was on his way home to Poughkeepsie- for good. In the years since Matt returned home to Sabrina, they have had countless adventures together. This includes seeing many concerts together, hiking both locally and across the country, going on family vacations, and taking small weekend trips just the two of them. All of the years together just solidified what they already knew- that they wanted the rest of their lives to be spent together as well. On October 27th, 2022 after almost 6 years together, Matt took Sabrina on a walk in the fall foliage at one of their favorite trails and asked her to marry him. Sabrina said yes! He then had both of their families surprise her at her parents home, as well as having all of their friends surprise her at their apartment later that night. It was truly one of the most amazing days of both of their lives. We cannot wait to take this next step together as husband and wife, and we are so happy to have you with us to celebrate. Lets party!!!!

Alex Piccorelli- Matron of HonorAlex and Sabrina have been more than just cousins, they have also been very close friends since they were children. They have amazing memories together- summers in Wilmington NC, days at the lake, reading books together and baking Christmas cookies every year just to name a few. She is the big sister that Sabrina never had, and Sabrina is so excited to have her stand by her side on her big day.

Haleigh McCloskey- BridesmaidHaleigh and Sabrina have been best friends since the third grade when Haleigh joined Sabrina's elementary school. They have truly grown up together over the years. No matter what changed in their lives, they were constant sources of friendship and support in each others lives. They have so many memories together- vacations in Lake George, early mornings spent hiking, and trying new restaurants together. Sabrina is so happy to have Haleigh by her side during this next step in her life!

Cassandra Steinbuch- BridesmaidSabrina and Cassie first met in middle school through mutual friends and quickly became besties. They spent their teenage years having sleepovers, partying, and going on adventures together. The two became even closer when they ended up going to the same college together- shoutout to Adelphi! Cassie &amp; Sabrina had so many amazing times in college- going out with friends, study nights in the library, and navigating life in their early 20s. They spent many hours in the car together commuting to and from college on their breaks from school listening to music and talking about everything under the sun. After college, they continue to make incredible memories together, having bi-weekly girls nights, craft days, and summers spent on both Long Island and Brigantine beach. Sabrina is so honored and excited to have Cassie as one of her bridesmaids on her wedding day!

Samantha LaMonica (soon to be Jones)- BridesmaidSam and Sabrina met in middle school and truly became best friends in high school. They spent high school and college exploring the Hudson Valley together, swimming in waterfalls, and making crazy memories. As the years went on and the wild high schools girls became the hardworking women, their friendship remained constant. They remained close as their old hobbies became their new hobbies- yoga, walking Sam's dog Stella, and having girl dinners. Sabrina is so excited to have Sam by her side!

Gigi Genovese- BridesmaidGigi and Sabrina have been besties and cousins since the moment Gigi was born. They grew up going to Wilmington NC together every summer, and although Sabrina is 7 years older than Gigi, they always felt connected to each other and have always loved each other like sisters. Gigi and Sabrina are attached at the hip at family parties and are always laughing when they are together. Sabrina has watched Gigi grow up over the years and is so excited to have her stand by her side on her big day!

Samantha Lombardo- BridesmaidSamantha and Sabrina met during their freshman year of college at Adelphi University at a party. They quickly became close, but sophomore year they truly became inseparable. They worked together catering on campus and would spend Friday nights going out and making memories, and wake up 3 hours later to work an event on campus. They made countless memories together- traveling to Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Bahamas, and North Carolina together, studying all night for nursing exams, sunset chasing at the beach, competing for good grades, and ALWAYS laughing together. Sam truly brought Sabrina out of her shell in college, and Sabrina is eternally grateful for that. After college they remain best friends and road trip to each other every chance they get. Sabrina is so excited to have Sam by her side on the most important day of her life.

Jacqueline Dove- BridesmaidJackie and Sabrina met in college at Adelphi University. They had the same friend group since freshman year (and still do to this day!). They spent endless nights studying for nursing exams, going out with friends, and spent summers driving out to each other- beach days on long island, hiking days in the Hudson Valley. They have had so many amazing times since college as well- going to Mexico, seeing live music, and celebrating their birthdays and milestones together whenever they can! Sabrina is so excited to have Jackie stand by her side on her big day!

Andraea Dizon- BridesmaidAndraea and Sabrina first met each other while working in the ER at Northern Westchester Hospital. Andraea precepted Sabrina who was a new nurse, and as they continued to work together they became best friends. When COVID hit, the two of them became very close, spending almost all of their time outside of work together (because no one else wanted to hang out with the contaminated ER nurses!). They made so many memories together- carving pumpkins, hiking, swimming in waterfalls, going to Vermont, and spending days gallavanting around NYC together trying new restaurants and posing for Insta pics. Although they no longer work together, they still remain just as close and see each other every chance they get. Sabrina is so excited to have Andraea be a bridesmaid in her wedding!!

Homewood Suites Hilton is approximately 7 minutes away from the Grandview. Transportation will be provided by the bride &amp; groom from Homewood Suites Hilton to the Grandview, as well as returning to Homewood Suites Hilton after the wedding. The bride and groom will be having an after wedding party (very informal, PJs preferred) in the lobby of Homewood Suites as well, we would LOVE to have you! **Please be advised that check in is 3 pm or later, and the last shuttle is scheduled to bring guests to the Grandview by 330 pm the absolute latest. You can call and ask to check in early and the Homewood Suites may be able to accommodate, if not you may need to come to the hotel prepared for the wedding!**

Homewood Suites by Hilton Poughkeepsie

This hotel is right next door to the Homewood Suites Hilton in Poughkeepsie. This is a great choice if you are unable or do not want to use Homewood Suites as a hotel option, and you will be able to walk to where the shuttle is bringing people to the Grandview and will have a ride back courtesy of the bride and groom. You can also walk just across the parking lot to the Homewood Suites so that you are able to join the after party after the wedding!! **Please be advised that check in is 3 pm or later, and the last shuttle is scheduled to bring guests to the Grandview by 330 pm the absolute latest. You can call and ask to check in early and the Residence Inn may be able to accommodate, if not you may need to come to the hotel prepared for the wedding!**

If you're traveling from near or far, this is right by the venue and is an amazing place to get your steps in, enjoy the gorgeous Hudson Valley fall foliage, and breathe some fresh air!

Walkway Over the Hudson

A beautiful Hudson Valley gem, if you are looking for things to do you can grab some food and come up to Vanderbilt for a picnic, a walk in the gardens, or learn about the history of the Hudson Valley. This is one of Matt &amp; Sabrina's favorite date spots!

Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site

Another beautiful garden to go to if you are looking to see some gorgeous buildings, views of the Hudson River, and some beautiful flowers.

Locust Grove Estate

Amazing restaurant and one of Sabrina &amp; Matt's favorite spots for a date night. Great food, even better drinks, can't recommend this place enough!

Cosimo's

This spot is great if you're in the mood for italian food! Matt &amp; Sabrina love coming here and grabbing a drink and some dinner. Great spot if you're looking for a romantic dinner locally!
