"We're Just friends...."

Friendship On Fire

Many of you know our story & many of you do not. It all started 8 years ago in Redding, CA. Matthew & I were both in ministry school at the same time but our paths didn't cross until a friend of mine moved into his apartment. We instantly hit it off & became the best of friends. Often we were hanging out & going on all the cutest non dates. Everyone wanted us to date but we told each other "we are just friends". We had many conversations about it because of how many people would ask if there was anything going on between us. So a couple years later I move to NYC & Matthew moves to Dallas, TX. The two of us stay in touch & spoke to each other often. It is about 3 & half years into NYC I start to get all the feelings for Matthew. He is someone I have treasured and deeply admired for years. And I for him. As I was nearing the end of fashion school I started planning my move to Dallas. I had to take the risk & shoot my shot but most importantly I just wanted to be near my best friend. August 15th of 2023 I fly him out to help me make the drive to Texas & you'd think I'd tell him my feelings right away on the road trip but heck no!! ... I had to work up the guts! After finally settling in I had him over for a dinner. That night in September I took the biggest risk of my life & told him about how all of the excuses I had for us to not date were totally gone. To my surprise a big smile appeared on his face & what came out of his mouth after I did NOT expect. But he had told me that before I left for NYC he had had feelings for me however knew that NY was where I was supposed to go. He held onto them & gave it to the Lord. Here we are a 14 months later deeply in love, engaged, & on our way to marriage. We can both say we are marrying our best friend. <3

Truly we feel so blessed to have so many know our story & to be surrounded by those we love for our big day.
