Our Wedding

It all began back in 5th grade at St. Mel Catholic School, where two kids first crossed paths without knowing just how much their lives would intertwine. On December 21, 2015, Max worked up the courage to ask Maya out (over text, of course) and from that day forward, their journey together began.Though high school took them in different directions, Bella Vista for Max and St. Francis for Maya, their love only grew stronger.In 2021, life led them to new adventures at different colleges: Max to Cal Poly SLO and Maya to San Diego State. Despite the miles between them, they knew their love was worth every effort, choosing long distance so they could continue building a future together. From countless visits and late-night calls, they always found their way back to each other.Then, on September 20, 2025, Max asked Maya the easiest question she’s ever answered: Will you marry me?Their love has grown through every season of life, and now they look forward to a lifetime of love, laughter, and home in each other.

Maya met Analaura in Communications 101 during the first semester of freshman year, and they’ve truly been inseparable ever since. She is Maya’s biggest cheerleader, a constant support, and has one of the biggest hearts she’s ever known. Maya couldn’t imagine this day without her by her side.

Sam & Joey have known Max since day one. As the youngest, they are Max’s first best friends, his first competitors, and the role models he grew up watching. He’s lucky to have them as brothers and even luckier to have them standing with him at the wedding,

Jenny is a true ray of sunshine and the person who can always make Maya laugh, no matter what. They met freshman year, became roommates, and survived their first apartment together at Aztec Corner, an experience that forged a friendship that Maya is beyond grateful for.

Preston lived three doors down from Max freshman year and was always up for doing something. Some of Max’s favorite college memories started with Max knocking on Preston’s door.

Maya met Karina through Jenny freshman year, and she quickly became someone Maya could always count on. She is one of the most honest and open people Maya has ever met and truly will always have her back. Living together and surviving their first apartment in Aztec Corner only made their bond stronger.

Max met Skyler during summer league basketball at a time when max wasn’t sure where he fit in. Sky welcomed him in right away, and they’ve been friends ever since.

Maya met Kat through Analaura freshman year, and she has been a true joy in Maya’s life ever since. She radiates love and kindness in everything she does and always gives the most thoughtful, grounding advice when Maya needs it most.

Max met Jarrod during summer league basketball, and he was one of the first people to make Max feel part of the group. They’ve shared a lot of good memories since then with many more to come.

Darrah is Maya’s cousin and one of the kindest, most loving people she knows. She radiates positivity, listens with her whole heart, and gives the best advice. Being in Darrah’s wedding in 2015 was such an honor, and Maya is so grateful to now have her by her side on her wedding day.

Cameron is Maya’s cousin and one of the first people who ever made her think, “I want to be like her when I grow up.” She was in Maya’s mom Aurora’s wedding, and Maya had the honor of being in hers, making this moment feel incredibly full circle and so special.

This hotel is located across from Capitol Park in downtown Sacramento. It has a heated outdoor pool, and offers spacious suites with free Wi-Fi and fully-equipped kitchens. At juju Kitchen&amp; Cocktails guests can enjoy California cuisine and wine. The Residence Inn provides a hot breakfast buffet. Coffee is offered in the lobby. Located inside the beautifully restored Public Market Building, this Sacramento hotel is near area points of interest and provides comfortable accommodations and modern amenities, in the heart of the city. What time should I arrive?

Please arrive by 2:30 p.m. so you’re comfortably seated before the ceremony begins promptly at 3:00 p.m. The ceremony is expected to last about 60 to 80 minutes, and afterward, cocktail hour will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Vizcaya.

Is the ceremony and reception at the same location?

No, the ceremony will be held at Holy Spirit Church in Sacramento. Following the ceremony and a short break, the cocktail hour and reception will take place at Vizcaya, also in Sacramento.

What time does the reception end?

The reception will conclude at 10:00 p.m.

Can I take pictures & videos during the ceremony?

To preserve the reverence of this sacrament, we kindly ask that you silence all electronic devices and refrain from taking any photos/videos during the ceremony. Thank you for helping us honor this sacred moment, we're grateful to be able to share it with you!

Is there parking at the venue?

For Holy Spirit Church:Parking is available in a private lot on site. Once that fills up, there is ample street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.For Vizcaya:There is plenty of street parking available in the surrounding area but Ubers are encouraged!

Can we bring our children?

We adore your kiddos but we're hoping to make our wedding an adults-focused celebration so parents can take the night off and enjoy themselves! We know that sometimes childcare can be difficult to arrange, and if that’s the case for you, please reach out — we’ll do what we can to make it work.

Can I bring a plus-one?

We’ve reserved invitations specifically for the parties listed on the RSVP. Plus-ones are only included for those in well-established, long-term relationships whose significant others Max &amp; Maya already know.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is formal — think romantic evening garden party! Suits and dresses are encouraged! Ties are not required.

What’s the weather typically like that time of year?

On May 22 in Sacramento, you can generally expect a lovely spring day with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s °F and lows in the 50s °F. Rain is very unlikely, and skies are mostly clear.

Will there be an open bar or can I bring my own alcohol?

Yes, we’ll have an open bar for your enjoyment. Guests are not permitted to bring their own alcohol.
