Things to Do

There's lots to do in both Fort Worth, where the wedding will take place, and in Dallas.

Here are some of our favorite neighborhoods, places and activities in Fort Worth that you can enjoy while in town for our wedding - or any other time!

If you get to our venue early, an app launched June 30 takes you on an augmented reality tour of the murals and art on South Main!

Magnolia Avenue

This street is our favorite neighborhood hang featuring some of the city's best BBQ (Heim), cocktails (The Usual), Mayda's favorite lunch spot (Lili's Bistro - get the truffle fries) and Fernando's top vegan place (Spiral Diner).

The Art Museums

Fort Worth punches above its weight when it comes to great art on display. The Modern, the Kimbell and the Amon Carter all have fantastic collections with different specialties. The Amon Carter, which focuses on American art, especially from the West, is free!!

The Stockyards

There's a reason Fort Worth is "Where the West begins". While not a frequent stop for locals, you can go here for your 'gram with real Texas longhorns, cowboys and other elements of Western culture - plus stop off a watering hole like the White Elephant Saloon.

Sundance Square

A city center of sorts in Fort Worth. A nice place to sit and enjoy life, watch the fountains and have a coffee break or do happy hour at Del Frisco's Grille or Flying Saucer.

Dallas

You'll need a car or to hop on the Trinity Railway Express, but we live in and love Dallas, Fort Worth's eastern neighbor.

In the Bishop Arts neighborhood, you can see where we got engaged, the bookstore/bar Wild Detectives and have an artisanal horchata at CocoAndre.

In Deep Ellum, have a coffee and run into Jon writing at Mokah then check out the city's best nightlife spots or have a cozy cocktail at Armoury (the smoky old fashioned, the Bonnie and Clyde, is among the city's best).

Near Deep Ellum in Exposition Park is our favorite bar, the mezcaleria Las Almas Rotas. In the day, you can stroll through the art deco architecture of Fair Park featured in our engagement photos!

In East Dallas, you can check out Lower Greenville, where outdoor bar the Truck Yard has established itself as a typical meeting point in the city. There also is the natural beauty of White Rock Lake and the adjacent Arboretum.

It's a big city, and there's lots to see. Reach out for more recommendations or for help navigating!
