FAQ

Are children invited to the wedding?

As much as we love your little ones, the wedding is for adults only. So, have a date night! Get a babysitter, leave the kids at home, and party with us for an evening.
Thank you for understanding!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We will have an unplugged ceremony, so please refrain from taking photos or videos. We have a team of experienced photographers capturing our day, and we will happily share our professional images with you after the wedding!

WHAT IS A SECOND LINE?

Second lines are deeply embedded in the cultural history of New Orleans, particularly among many African-American communities who formed Social Aid & Pleasure Clubs for the benefit of their members. In addition to providing funds for medical care, funeral expenses, and other essential support, these clubs also organized public parades in which members could participate. It wasn’t long before this second line tradition spread throughout the city, and became an annual highlight for New Orleanians from all walks of life. Nowadays, second lines, large or small, may be held for any event which people think merits having a parading band, such as a wedding. There are two parts to a second line. The first line is made up of the grand marshal or parade leader, the band, and whoever is being honored. In a wedding, the bride, groom and wedding party take a position up front. The guests who fall in behind are referred to as the second line. The leaders of the parade carry decorated umbrellas, while the other participants shake handkerchiefs as they walk. A brass band plays music that keeps everyone dancing and moving!
