Our Wedding

Chris and Meg met in June 2018 at the The Standard Biergarten after matching through an online dating app- Coffee Meets Bagel.&nbsp; After a great first date including delicious pizza, excellent conversation and&nbsp;a fun&nbsp;walk on the High Line they both knew they had stumbled upon something special.&nbsp; They have traveled to&nbsp;1/4 of the U.S. together as well as the Bahamas, United Kingdom and France.&nbsp; Meg and Chris&nbsp;enjoy going to sporting events (go Jets and Packers), broadway shows, concerts, new restaurants (especially steakhouses and Italian), indoor cycling classes and walks through Central Park.

The Beginning - June 22nd 2018

Chris proposed to Meg with just the two of them present at South Cove&nbsp;Marina near the Financial&nbsp;District in lower&nbsp;Manhattan.&nbsp; A week prior Chris had surprised Meg with tickets to Come from Away- a show which she had been wanting to see for a few years. After going the matinee show they had dinner&nbsp;at Old Homestead- one of the oldest steakhouses in NYC. Afterwards Chris surprised her by having a car waiting outside that brought them to the marina where he proposed.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The easiest airport to fly into is EWR&nbsp;(Newark)&nbsp;but you can also fly into&nbsp;&nbsp;JFK, LGA or (LaGuardia).&nbsp;

If you have questions about flights/ getting around the city please feel free to contact Meg at megedolohanty@gmail.com. She has flown in and out of all these airports several times and used all the public transit options.&nbsp; 





Via (a shared ride service- similar to Uber Pool) is very easy to use- but drops you off within 2 blocks of your destination (not ideal with tons of luggage or small children)- Use code meg5y9 to get $20 off your first ride.&nbsp;

Airport Information 

Located 1 block West of Columbus Circle . Cross streets are&nbsp;Amsterdam between 59th and 60th. Easily accessible by the 1, A, B, C, and D&nbsp;subway lines.&nbsp;Located just across the street from Mount Sinai West (one of the hospitals where Meg works) Nearby Parking Garages&nbsp; 400 W. 59th St. - MP West 58 Valet (0.12 miles from church)&nbsp; 80 W. 61st St.- valet Garage (0.10 miles from church)&nbsp;

You can also take Lyft, Via or Uber. Manhattan is also a great walking city.&nbsp;

Travel

Same day (or next day matinee)&nbsp;broadway tickets.&nbsp; This location is indoors, so if it's hot outside recommend going there. There is also&nbsp;a location just north of times square (near the big stairs pictured above). Often can get orchestra seats for $100 or under.&nbsp;

TKTS Lincoln Center

Great views on all of NYC- especially Central Park! Chris and Meg went here July 26th 2019!&nbsp;

Top of the Rock

Old above ground subway line converted into outdoor park. Has views of the Hudson River.&nbsp; We went here on our first date.&nbsp;

High Line

Quintessential NYC. If you want to walk up to the crown book tickets months in advance. Allow at least half a day and combine with Ellis Island.&nbsp;

Statue of Liberty National Monument

Classic NYC picture opportunity- right near Wall Street.&nbsp;

Charging Bull

Art museum- focuses on 20th- and 21st-century American&nbsp;art.

Whitney Museum of American Art

If you're into Art (or want that classic Gossip Girl photo)- a must see. Constantly changing exhibits.&nbsp;

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Free! Recommend Bethesda fountain, the Ramble,&nbsp;Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, Strawberry Fields and sheeps meadow.&nbsp; You can also rent a bike and ride around a large path inside.&nbsp;

Central Park

Go up a few floors to see the classic wooden escalators.&nbsp;

Macy's

Inexpensive mini golf- great for the whole family.&nbsp;

Pier 25 Mini Golf

Dinosaurs, buffalo, whales and so much more!&nbsp;

American Museum of Natural History

Delicious Indian food and some of the best service in NYC. Your water cup will never be empty. One of our favorites.&nbsp;

Bengal Tiger

Delicious cupcakes and well known for their banana pudding. There is also one at 69th St. and Columbus near Meg's old&nbsp;apartment.&nbsp;

Magnolia Bakery

Cookies with frosting! Great after (or before)&nbsp;a broadway show.&nbsp; The funfetti flavor is amazing.&nbsp;

Schmackary's

Southern style food. Great for brunch. Huge portions.&nbsp;

Jacob's Pickles

Brunch usually without a wait (and no reservation needed). Great oatmeal, Eggs Benedict, French toast.&nbsp;

Friedmans

Great margaritas and free chips and salsa. Recommend for dinner before a broadway show.&nbsp;

El Centro

Hands down best cookies we have ever had. Only four flavors and all are delicious.&nbsp; Have a second location at 74th and Amsterdam (smaller and usually more crowded). Perfect treat before a walk through Central Park.&nbsp;
