When is the wedding?
Our wedding is Friday, February 23, 2024 at Merrick Hollow in Wellston or Merrick, OK.
Where should we stay?
We have secured several room blocks for the wedding. Please visit the "Travel & Accommodations" tab for more information on hotels, local bed and breakfasts, and AirBNB options. We highly recommend staying at the Hampton Inn in Guthrie, but the other options are fantastic, as well. We have added additional rooms to the room block at the Hampton, hoping to accommodate everyone. If you need assistance making a reservation, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Can I bring a plus one?
Although we would love to accommodate everyone, our venue just isn't quite big enough... We've addressed our invitations specifically based on the number of people the venue can comfortably accommodate and hope you understand! We can't wait to celebrate with you!
What time should we arrive?
The wedding ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00pm. Due to the nature of the venue, it will be difficult to access the ceremony space after the ceremony has begun. Please plan accordingly and try to arrive early, if at all possible. If you plan to utilize the shuttle service to get to the venue, please note that the shuttle routes are scheduled for 2:00pm and 2:15pm.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Both! We plan to have an outdoor ceremony, followed by an indoor reception. Please keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly. We will move the ceremony indoors if inclement weather becomes a problem. We promise to do all we can to keep you warm given the time of year.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
The dress code is Western Formal. Gentlemen, you'll want to starch your favorite jeans and break out your sport coat for this one! We love your felt hat and boots, but please leave your spurs at home. Ladies, don't stress! We want you to enjoy yourself and be comfortable, all while looking your best! All we ask is that attendees try their best to wear neutral or earth-toned colors on our big day to help amplify our theme. I’ve put together a Pinterest board for inspiration; you can find the link below! Simply copy and paste the link into your browser of choice to view the board.
Please avoid wearing white or any shade of off-white.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! We love a good beverage as much as anyone. Please note, we are unable to serve shots of any kind due to venue restrictions. We plan to offer Michelob Ultra and two signature cocktails for your enjoyment (and ours!).
Don't forget to bring cash to tip your bartenders & participate in the dollar dance!
Am I allowed to take photos at your ceremony?
Although we are honored that you'd like to capture our special moments, we kindly ask that you do not take photos during our wedding ceremony. We assure you, our professional photographer will take excellent images. In order for her to do her best work, we ask that you silence and put away your cell phones during the ceremony. Be present in these special moments with us and leave the photography to the professionals!
Am I allowed to take photos at your reception?
Absolutely!! In fact, we want to see them! We've paid for a virtual guestbook subscription through Guestpix, which provides a simple way for our guests to upload photos taken on your personal device, so that we can experience the reception from your perspective! Keep an eye out for the QR code and upload away!
Will transportation be available?
Yes! We've arranged for a shuttle to run from the Hampton Inn to our venue at 2:00pm and 2:15pm. Space will be limited and seats are not guaranteed. The shuttle will run from the venue to our partner hotels in Guthrie beginning at 8:00pm. The shuttle will run every hour on the hour from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. Several people have asked if they can contribute to the cost of the shuttle, so we've set up a cash fund via our wedding registry for anyone who would like to help us cover this expense.
