Our story...

Some couple's stories might begin with a "Once upon a time" or a "Once there was a little girl who always dreamed of her prince charming" but ours? Well, ours begins with Instagram.

I had no idea the way in which my life would change on that average Thursday afternoon. To me, it felt like any other day. Until my phone lit up at the notification of an Instagram message, that is... Little did I know the guy on the delivering end of that message would turn out to be my husband - But I'm getting ahead of myself! Let's back up. It's true, it all began on Instagram. Having said that, we did have quite a few mutual friends, so it's not like I agreed to go on a date with a total stranger... Tyler's pick-up line was anything but smooth, but all jokes aside, he struck up a conversation and that conversation never missed a beat. After about a month, I finally agreed to our first date - he has a friend of mine and a few Coors Lights to thank for that one!

Long story short, we went to dinner. Tyler drove 4 and a half hours to meet me at Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes in Decatur, TX. We ate, had a few drinks, and then said our goodbyes. I figured that would be the last of Tyler Terry; he was a great guy and I enjoyed our visit, but I didn't foresee anything serious coming of it. Shortly thereafter, I found myself in conversation with Tyler again... and again... and again... We talked all day, every day for the next 3 months. It became pretty obvious that there was something more than a friendship developing, so we planned to get together again.

Tyler was returning from a trip to Mexico, so he laid over in Fort Worth for the evening so we could venture to the stockyards. We had the best time, dancing the night away. Little did he know, this was a huge test. I don't date guys that can't dance...

I'd say the rest is history, but we all know that's not true. We certainly didn't get to where we are on a road paved with gold bricks. We've had our fair share of bumps, construction zones, and road closures along the way, but I think that's part of what makes our relationship so special. We've been through a lot together in the last 2 and a half years, but each roadblock only seemed to strengthen our relationship.

August 24, 2023

Tyler and I traveled to the Dominican Republic for an adults-only vacation. We had talked about rings and marriage and happily ever after plenty of times, so I knew it was coming, but I wasn't entirely sure when. We missed our original flight, but arrived in the Dominican the following day. We enjoyed one day on the beach, and then Tyler told me about the surprise he had planned. He told me he knew how important photos were to me, so he scheduled a photographer to take pictures of us on the beach that evening. Immediately all the sirens went off in my head - I knew it was coming. I text my two best friends (who both covered for Tyler flawlessly, I might add) and updated them on Tyler's big surprise. We got ready, that evening, walked to the beach, (both began to sweat profusely) and the evening commenced! The photographer Tyler hired was great - but he didn't speak a lick of English, so the conversation was a little lacking... He posed us here and there, even capturing a high school prom-style moment on the beach. Then, I saw the nod. I turned around to find Tyler holding a little red book (the same little red book he wrote a note to me in several months before). He opened the book to a page full of words and told me to meet him down the beach when I was ready. He walked away, leaving me to boo-hoo over the pages alone with the photographer. I turned and started my way down the beach to find the sand covered in rose petals... and there he was (que the prince charming moment I mentioned earlier, except my prince charming was very sweaty and wearing flip flops). He grabbed my hands, wiped my tears, and pressed his forehead to mine. After a few moments conversing, he got down on one knee and popped the question! Obviously, I said yes! We celebrated with champagne and began calling all of our friends and family to share the news!

We are so thankful to have such a wonderful support system in all of you. We're very much looking forward to tying the knot on February 23, 2024 and can't wait to share in our big day with all the ones we love!

Meg met Hailey in the fall of 2021. Hailey was originally Meg's real estate agent, but quickly became one of her closest friends, bonding over similar upbringings and mutual interests. Hailey is the friend you can always count on, loyal to the ends of the earth.

Makala and Meg go all the way back to freshman year of college at Texas State. Although both gals transferred to different schools, they kept in touch via social media and eventually reconnected at a horse sale in Amarillo. The girls quickly became inseparable, spending their free time together (usually over a pile of french fries at Harrah's). Makala is the most kind-hearted, genuine gal you'll ever meet.

Carmen is Tyler's older (and arguably wiser) sister. Meg and Carmen have cultivated a valuable friendship over the past two years and look forward to all the family moments to come. Carmen brings life to the title "sister in love".

Meg and Sage share memories from 3rd grade, on. Even when the girls were thousands of miles apart, their friendship always picked back up right where they left off. Sage is truly a once in a lifetime friend.

Slusher has been around for a decade or so, always toting his camera and a big smile wherever he goes. Scott and Tyler have a unique friendship, seeming more like family than old friends.

Grady has been a constant in Tyler’s life for many years, following their meeting in the summer of 2007. Although Grady and his wife live several hours away, they’re always willing to go the distance when it matters most.

Tyler and Bucky’s friendship goes back to 2012,  meeting through a horse deal in Mineral Wells, TX. These two have been through it all together and their friendship has stood the test of time.

Tyler and Dusty met back in 2006 at “the great university of Texas Tech”, according to Tyler. Dusty and Tyler have remained close friends over the years, working together on and off and catching up whenever they have a chance.

The Pollard Theatre in Guthrie, Oklahoma is a historic theatre that has been entertaining audiences since its opening in 1913. The Frontier Drug Store Museum in Guthrie, Oklahoma is a must-see for any traveler to the area. Along the way, you’ll find plenty of places to stop, rest, and take in the views.The Guthrie Hike &amp; Bike Trail is open all year round, and is free to use. There are several access points along the way, so you can easily pick up the trail at any point and find your way back. The trail is well-marked and easy to follow, so even if you’re not familiar with the area, you can easily find your way.For the more adventurous types, there are plenty of challenging sections of the trail. If you’re looking for a more intense workout, try tackling the hills and switchbacks that you’ll find along the trail. There are also plenty of places to take a break and admire the scenery, so don’t worry if you’re feeling a bit tired.

This 1907 stately Victorian Mansion, located in historic Guthrie, has been lovingly restored to preserve the authenticity and retain its original charm and ambiance. Stone Lion Inn bed and breakfast features a downstairs parlor, oak paneled dining room and leaded glass bookshelves in our library, as well as six guest room suites with elegant interiors including antique furnishings, sitting rooms, and private baths with claw-foot tubs for two. At the Stone Lion Inn, we are known for our Murder Mystery Weekends. Every Friday and Saturday night, up to 40 guests participate as characters in our famous murder mystery complete with a 7 course dinner. The event lasts for four hours as our guests interact with each other to solve the hilariously convoluted plot. One of them will be a murderer, and one of them will be murdered!
