Tyler and I traveled to the Dominican Republic for an adults-only vacation. We had talked about rings and marriage and happily ever after plenty of times, so I knew it was coming, but I wasn't entirely sure when.

We missed our original flight, but arrived in the Dominican the following day. We enjoyed one day on the beach, and then Tyler told me about the surprise he had planned. He told me he knew how important photos were to me, so he scheduled a photographer to take pictures of us on the beach that evening. Immediately all the sirens went off in my head - I knew it was coming. I text my two best friends (who both covered for Tyler flawlessly, I might add) and updated them on Tyler's big surprise. We got ready, that evening, walked to the beach, (both began to sweat profusely) and the evening commenced!

The photographer Tyler hired was great - but he didn't speak a lick of English, so the conversation was a little lacking... He posed us here and there, even capturing a high school prom-style moment on the beach. Then, I saw the nod. I turned around to find Tyler holding a little red book (the same little red book he wrote a note to me in several months before). He opened the book to a page full of words and told me to meet him down the beach when I was ready. He walked away, leaving me to boo-hoo over the pages alone with the photographer. I turned and started my way down the beach to find the sand covered in rose petals... and there he was (que the prince charming moment I mentioned earlier, except my prince charming was very sweaty and wearing flip flops).

He grabbed my hands, wiped my tears, and pressed his forehead to mine. After a few moments conversing, he got down on one knee and popped the question! Obviously, I said yes! We celebrated with champagne and began calling all of our friends and family to share the news!
