Our Story

Megan and Harley met in the most classic, timeless, fairytale kind of way…

Tinder.

Their early messages were filled with the usual: favorite movies, favorite foods, the essential “who are you as a person” banter. Somewhere in there, Harley declared a hard and non-negotiable truth: the best movie of all time is Paddington 2. Yes. That Paddington 2. So naturally, their first date had to be at the Marmalade Café.

So they made a plan.

And Megan was late.

But she swears it was not her fault. She was actually early...just in the wrong spot. Meanwhile, Harley was already inside the booth, assuming he’d been stood up and preparing to be very polite about it. Until he saw her hustle past the window in a blue and white polka dot dress. She asked way too many personal questions for a first date, he declared he "liked her face."

The rest is history.

Well, not really.

There was a lot more. Like Covid. That fun little twist forced a lot of hard and fast decisions about their relationship and living situation within a year. They also dated secretly for a long time. Like a long long long long time. For "personal reasons" and maybe because they didn’t want to burst the happy bubble with other people’s opinions.

Eventually, Harley moved in, and then the rest was history.

Well, almost.

There was also the second cat, Muppet, who prefers Harley (it’s fine), and Chicken, the first cat, who acts like Megan actually gave birth to her and likes to kick Harley out of bed.

Somewhere between juggling a zillion jobs, they still made time for the good stuff: traveling, movie nights, book hoarding, more traveling, coffee dates, and very important silly dances in the living room (yes, with the cats).

When Harley proposed at Christmastime in 2023, Megan was shocked. Truly. Genuinely. Had-no-idea shocked. But it was magical.

While Harley’s favorite movie is Paddington 2, Megan’s is National Treasure. Yes, the one where Nicolas Cage steals the Declaration of Independence. So for the proposal, Harley created a full-blown Christmas present scavenger hunt—National Treasure-themed, of course.

Now, Megan loves Christmas presents. But she hates surprises. So you can imagine the emotional chaos of being forced to unwrap clues and not knowing what any of them were. Harley, meanwhile, watched with heart-racing anticipation as Megan grew increasingly irritated by a scavenger hunt that would ultimately change both their lives.

The final clue? A rolled-up replica of the Declaration of Independence. On the back, in tiny (almost invisible ink), was Harley’s message. Megan thought it was a joke.

Until she looked over and Harley was on one knee.

Now, two whole years later, they’re ready to bring that same kind of Christmas magic to their wedding day.

They’re so excited to celebrate with all of you.
