It all started with a little white lie and a lot of courage. In the midst of a global pandemic, Megan was packing up her life and preparing to move to Durham. She decided to get a head start on meeting people in her soon-to-be home and joined Hinge. There was just one tiny detail: she wasn’t quite in Durham yet. But that didn’t stop her from swiping right on Blake, a Durham local with a warm smile and a profile that made her laugh. Blake, unaware of Megan’s creative geolocation strategy, was intrigued. After exchanging messages filled with witty banter and shared love for adventure, they agreed to meet. When the day finally came, Megan had officially made it to Durham, and Blake showed up with a surprise of his own—a wild, floppy-eared puppy named Eno, who was as energetic as he was adorable. Their first date was a whirlwind. Megan quickly learned that Eno was not only Blake’s new furry best friend but also a certified chaos agent, dragging them from one playful misadventure to another. Somehow, between Eno’s antics and their shared laughter, the two found an unexpected ease with one another. From that moment, their story unfolded naturally. They discovered a shared love for good food, spontaneous road trips, and lazy Sundays at home. Through quiet moments and big adventures, they built a life filled with love, partnership, and the occasional Eno-induced mayhem. Now, after navigating everything from Zoom hangouts to puppy training, they’re thrilled to be starting their greatest adventure yet—marriage. Megan may have bent the truth to meet Blake, but every moment since has been undeniably real. Join us as we celebrate this next chapter of our story—we can’t wait to share it with all of you!

Highly recommend this New-York style bagel shop local to the Charlottesville area. We go every morning that we visit. Don't be intimidated by the long lines! They move quickly and, in our opinion, it's worth the wait. There are three total locations in the Charlottesville area.

Bodo's Bagels

Small, local pizza joint where everything from the pita to the burgers to the ice cream is homemade? Yes, please. This pizza place is our favorite in the area. It's super laid-back and the food never misses a note. If you go, can you bring us back a pizza (half Humble Pie and half Annie Oakley)? It's about a 20-minute drive from downtown Charlottesville.

Cville Hop On Tours

Trick-or-Treat on the University LawnFriday October 31st at 5-7 pm This longtime tradition established by students in the late 1980s is open to children and families from the local community. The residents and members of student organizations will be stationed around the Lawn to give out treats. All candy is donated and distributed by approximately 70 student groups and other organizations. Residents look forward to hundreds of children and families participating in the festivities!
