We met in the Spring of 2021. Megan was finishing up her first year of graduate school and Austin was still working at the MSU Library. Megan had been living in East Lansing for just a few weeks when she received a "like" on a dating app from a 25-year-old guy wearing a Pulp Fiction t-shirt. He had a couple weird pictures, but Megan saw enough potential to "like" him back. We started talking and it was clear we had in a lot in common, from being cat-people to going to the same church.

For our first date, Austin took Megan to an Indian restaurant. After a lot of online dating in the past, Austin was feeling pretty jaded about dating in general, but later that night he reported to his mom that it actually was "really good," and Megan reported feeling similarly to her roommates. After that night, Austin started taking Megan to the young adult group at their church that he was involved with. A few dates later, we made it official and deleted Hinge accounts ceremoniously at the same time. (Godspeed to all those still on the apps.)

Our time together has been a whirlwind of disagreements about movies, monkey videos, obsessing over our cat, making art together, cooking for each other, hosting Halloween parties, and laughing together. We are so excited to spend our lives together and to celebrate with everyone in May!
