January 21st, 2023

5:00pm CST

What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues?

Both ceremony and reception are at Hotel Icon - 220 Main St, Houston, TX 77002.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Indoors

Are the ceremony and reception at the same venue?

Yes, both are at Hotel Icon!

Will there be an open bar?

Yes, wine, beer, mixed drinks, and full non-alcoholic service will be available. The wedding and reception will be heavily photographed, so any drunken shenanigans will be well-documented forever. Proceed with caution.

We're not staying at the hotel and/or do not want to pay the valet fees, are there other parking/transportation options?

Yes, many options depending on where you are staying and if you have a vehicle. Reach out to Megan or Jason for the best answer. The bride and groom live approximately 6 miles from the hotel and have guest parking available. The NW Transit Center is half a mile from their apartment. A Lyft to the hotel is ~$12.

Have you reserved blocks of rooms?

Yes! Please reserve at Hotel Icon by January 26th to receive the discounted rate. If you do not see the room or date you would like, please contact Megan or Jason.

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Formal Attire - Recommended for Women: Cocktail dress, long evening dress, dressy jumpsuit, pantsuit, etc. Recommended for Men: A dark suit with a button-up shirt and optional tie, sports jacket or blazer, and slacks.

What is the weather like in the area?

Good question! The weather should be pleasant, with a high of around 60°F and a low of 50°F. Humidity should be 70%, which is typical year-round.

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Yes. There is also an option for a kid's meal when you RSVP, as the meal will be served, not a buffet.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Hors d'oeuvres, fruit, nuts, cheese, and crackers will be available during cocktail hour. A sit-down dinner will be served with a choice of dry-aged filet mignon or lobster tail. The bride and groom have preselected soup, salad, and sides. Children's meals are available and recommended for those under 10.

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

After the ceremony, cocktail hour will begin with drinks, passed hors d'oeuvres, fresh seasonal fruit with chocolate, and an artisan cheese display. As the ceremony and reception are in the same space, the staff will transform the room while guests enjoy cocktail hour. We expect guests enter the reception area at 6:45p.

Could you suggest places to eat, drink and see while I am in town for your wedding?

Yes, so many places! We will update this section soon but for specific recommendations, reach out to Megan or Jason.
