It was December of 2020. Megan was finishing up her first year of physical therapy school at Cleveland State and was still looking for a Catholic young adult community to get involved in. Megan and her brother, Adam, were invited to a local young adult Catholic group called Catching Fire, which Jimmy and his best friend, Joe, started in 2018. Upon arrival, the first person Megan met in the parking lot was Jimmy. He directed her and Adam to where they were supposed to go and that was the only interaction they had for the next couple months.

Megan slowly got more involved in Catching Fire and eventually joined the leadership team, where her and Jimmy became good friends. Jimmy first started thinking about Megan as more than a friend in October of 2021, when a friend of his encouraged him to ask Megan out at a party. Although he liked the idea, he was nervous that dating someone on the leadership team could have a negative impact on the community if things went poorly. He decided to tuck the thought away in the back of his mind.

Megan first started thinking about Jimmy as more than a friend in March of 2022 but was nervous to make a move, fearing that their friendship may be ruined if he did not feel the same way. She kept her feelings to herself and waited to see how things would play out.

Fast forward to January of 2023. Jimmy and Megan started working more closely together on the leadership team, and Jimmy's hidden interest in Megan came back to the forefront of his mind. Jimmy took a solo trip to Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in Carey, Ohio at the end of that month. During the drive home, he realized he was in love with Megan and planned to ask her out when the time was right. Megan noticed a shift in Jimmy's attention to her after that trip and excitedly wondered if something was about to happen between the two of them. Jimmy then asked Megan out in February of 2023, and their love story came full circle when Jimmy proposed to Megan on May 11, 2024 at Our Lady of Consolation Shrine. They are now thrilled to be entering into the Sacrament of Matrimony in the presence of the Lord and their loved ones during the Octave of Easter on the eve of Divine Mercy Sunday!
