Megan and Travis met briefly in January 2015 before officially starting to date that summer. Megan was in Rock of Ages the Musical while Travis was on summer break from his FSU Medical School education. He came to see her show, with a bouquet of roses in hand, and Megan was soon enamored by Traviss natural charm and wit. The two became official in September of 2015 and have enjoyed the exciting adventure since! From date nights at Tans Asian cafe, to music festivals in Tennessee, Travis and Megan made the most of their time out of class together. When Megan graduated from FSU Spring 2017, she and Travis moved into their first apartment together for his last year of medical school education. During that time Megan worked full-time and took classes to pursue a degree in Nursing. Travis was always available to tutor her throughout her studies and supported her love of doing community theater. When Megan shared that the latest musical she had been cast in, Anything Goes at Quincy Music theater, was in need of a Sax and Clarinet player Travis was more than happy to help out. Soon after graduating Med School, Travis and Megan made the move to Savannah, Georgia for Travis to continue his medical education through his Internal Medicine Residency. Megan soon after began Nursing School at Georgia Southern University and the two managed to make the most of their limited time off together enjoying Savannah. Their first apartment in Savannah was located right in front of St. Johns Cathedral downtown and the two were able to walk to the farmers market at Forsyth park and to the River for food and drinks. Not only did they enjoy Savannah but they managed to take trips to Asheville NC and New York City while juggling school and work. After getting their taste of downtown living they moved into a little duplex that had a backyard. They then welcomed their puppy Louie to the family. Soon after Louie was brought home, the COVID Pandemic began. Travis worked as a Doctor and Megan was finishing nursing school and worked in the Emergency Department as a nurses aid. While COVID put a strain on their mental health, they found it comforting to know that the other understood the hardships they faced working in healthcare. While COVID continued on, Travis not only managed to finish Residency and secure his first Hospitalist job, but he did so while supporting Megan in her first nursing position in the Emergency Department. They then moved back to Tallahassee, Florida where Travis started his new job and Megan began a new nursing position in the Neuro Trauma ICU. Travis, Megan and Louie have lived happily in Tallahassee since! In January of 2022, Travis and Megan went on vacation to Asheville, NC. After a romantic weekend away, Travis proposed on top of looking glass rock. Megan and Travis enjoyed a relaxed engagement period, while Megans teeth slowly moved into their preoperative position. Megan had a planned Jaw Surgery that required braces before and after, so the wedding planning was put on hold. Travis was a very supportive partner while Megan went through an emotionally and physically taxing recovery from surgery. After a successful jaw surgery, the pair were finally ready to start wedding planning! They settled on the beautiful St. Clements Castle and Marina after falling in love with the area during a vacation. Megan and Travis and very excited to share their special day with their family and friends October 12. 2024!
