Transportation from Chicago Airports

Whether you're flying into O'Hare International Airport (ORD) or Midway International Airport (MDW), navigating to your destination in Chicago is easy with a variety of transportation options available.

O’Hare International Airport (ORD)

O’Hare is located about 17 miles northwest of downtown Chicago.


Public Transportation

CTA Blue Line Train:

Follow signs for "Trains to City" from your terminal. The Blue Line offers 24/7 service directly to downtown Chicago.

Travel Time: ~45 minutes

Fare: $5 (airport to city)


Rideshare & Taxis

Rideshare: Look for designated pickup zones (upper levels of terminals).

Taxis: Available outside baggage claim on the lower level.

Rental car facilities can be accessed via the Airport Transit System (ATS).

Plan Ahead: Both airports can have long security lines during peak times, so arrive early.


Public Transit (Subway/Buses): If you do not have a lot of luggage and you can carry it easily, then you can take the CTA. Purchase a Ventra Card for unlimited rides ($5 for 1 day or $15 for 3 days).
