Adam's Version:
Megan and Adam matched online in late 2021 and quickly began sending novels worth of texts to each other. After spending more time on their phones than with their families during the Christmas holidays, they finally met on a clear, cold January night in 2022.
The location was a run-of-the-mill local neighborhood eatery with the saltiest pretzels known to mankind. They easily talked the evening away while dusting salt off of pretzels, and eventually ended up getting kicked out of the restaurant. This became a common theme as they went on subsequent dates.
They began attending Mass together. Adam began tagging along to Megan's Irish dance competitions and began amassing a collection of custom-made Team Megan gear. They grew ever closer together and supported each other through many trials over the following year, including driving across the country during the Christmas holidays, due to the Southwest Airlines meltdown, to visit Adam's family in Kansas.
Finally, Adam proposed to Megan on her birthday in the Raleigh Azalea Garden before taking her to a romantic dinner at a French Restaurant.
Megan's Version:
After a disappointing Oireachtas (regionals) in early December 2021, I decided to once again try and branch out and meet someone, and so I restarted my Hinge account; immediately regretting my decision. That is until I was scrolling through my matches before a Lindsey Sterling Christmas Concert when I was notified that I received a digital rose.
Adam had initiated a conversation about Monty Python, of all things, which lead to spiderman, which then led to video games, our work in Pharmaceuticals and so on and so on. Impressed that Adam could hold a conversation I agreed to meeting up with him for drinks in the middle of December . . . for January 7th. I didn't think he would carry through on that plan. But over the next two weeks we continued writing several large novels to each other which set a precedent for our first two months of dating.
When I finally met Adam, there were very few people in a local tavern. But a moment that I will always remember about this date (besides the salty pretzels) was when he fumbled the clipboard menu and dropped it with a loud clang onto the floor. A woman across the tavern just looked at me, smiled, and nodded her head. (Sorry Adam, this is still second my favorite part of the date).
We sat and talked, eventually closing down the restaurant. Which we continued to do for several weeks.
Adam is very close with my 8 year old Vizsla, Eva. (I call him, HER boyfriend) and has been knighted as "Angus" in my family.
Adam has become one of my favorite travel companions. Tagging along to concerts, Feisianna up and down the east coast, Nationals in Montreal and Nashville. Oireachtas in Florida (with a mini–Disney Vacation after!), as well as across the globe to the All Ireland Championships in Killarney, Ireland.
I'm very excited for our future together and many more adventures to come.
