The wedding venue is located at a Colorado ranch. The wedding deck is a short walk on a dirt path from where the reception will be. Having comfortable footwear would be nice, however, if you’re dead set on those high heels, you can still wear them to this venue. Maybe bring some comfortable shoes to change into :) In July, it can be very hot during the day, and get very cool at night. We would recommend bringing a jacket for later in the evening. This is not a black tie event but we’d love for everyone to look nice and have fun!

While there is some public transportation available, Ubers and cabs can be hard to find in the mountains. Depending on the location you choose to stay at, many activities, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. If you plan to sight see or take part in Colorado activities, having a car would be very helpful. The welcome party will be located at the Westin in Avon and the wedding will be in Wolcott. Transportation will be provided to and from the wedding venue at these locations: The Riverwalk Inn (in Edwards), the Westin in Avon, and the transportation center in Vail.

Most locations in the Vail Valley are about a 2-2.5 hour drive from Denver. Depending on the day and time you’re driving, the traffic into the mountains can get rough. We recommend leaving earlier in the morning to avoid heavy traffic into the mountains.

The elevation of our wedding venue site will be right around 7,000 feet and the elevation in the town of Vail is right around 8,000 feet. With higher elevations, the oxygen is lower. What this means is that you can get dehydrated easier, feel more lethargic and breathing can be more difficult for some. We recommend that all guests coming from lower elevations; drink LOTS of water, come in to town a few days earlier to acclimate, and go slow on consuming alcohol. The saying goes “for every one drink -equals two in the mountains.”

Yes! Everyone is invited to the Welcome Party! The Welcome Party will be on the deck of the Westin in Avon from 7-9. Beverages will be provided, we recommend having dinner prior to the Welcome party. We can't wait to see you!

Yes, you are welcome to drive your own personal cars to the venue and there is plenty of parking. You are also welcome to leave your car overnight if needed.
