Thomas and Meghan went on their first date about four hours after meeting each other. Although it paved the way for great things, it wasn't quite as romantic as it sounds. Meghan practically begged Thomas to come to a movie with her after her friend cancelled last minute. Oh and did she mention she had to write a quick mid-term. Oh and the movie they were going to see was a preview of the Fault in our Stars and they would be surrounded by hundreds of sobbing thirteen year olds? Well, at least they will always be able to remember their anniversary because their movie tickets came with bracelets with the date on them.

Since that fateful first date, Meghan and Thomas have been fortunate enough to share in some hard and many wonderful moments together. A few of their favourites include always trying to out do last year's Christmas cookies and gingerbread houses (or castles); going on long walks in the park with their dog, Nev; playing board games with friends; bumming it on the beach in Gibsons, BC; working up the courage to jump off Graffiti Rock on lake Kashwakamak; doing a liveaboard snorkel tour around the Similan Islands in Thailand; and seeing each other again in Belize after Meghan had been gone for two months.

Thomas proposed to Meghan in Belize at sunrise. Meghan's hair was unbrushed and she was barely out of her pyjamas. Thomas successfully got Meghan out of said pyjamas and avoided dropping the ring between the gaps in the dock into the ocean. It was perfect.

They look forward to celebrating the next chapter of their lives with all their friends and family.
