The theme for our wedding is garden party and we would love our guests to have fun with that, whatever that means to them! Of course, though, we want you to be comfortable at our wedding. We will be getting married outside in August and we are hoping for some beautiful warm weather. With that in mind may we suggest something along the lines of: Light fabrics such as linens; Shoes appropriate for walking on uneven surfaces; Light sundresses or separates; Light dress pants and dress shirts; Jackets or ties are not required!
Is there parking on-site?
Yes! Parking will be available for all on-site at Alton Mill Art Centre.
Are there accommodations on-site?
No, but there are plenty of options in the area! See the "Accommodations" tab of the wedding site to see a list of great options nearby.
If I'm staying nearby and want to have a few drinks, how do I get to and from the event safely?
Uber is available in the area, and Nearby Orangeville
has a number of taxi companies that will get you back to your home, hotel, or AirBnb safe and sound!
Taxi companies include: GTA Cab Orangeville, AJ Taxi Orangeville, and Seven Eleven Taxi Orangeville.
How do I get there?
For a more scenic route to Alton Mill (1402 Queen St W) from the south, we suggest you take Highway 10 north from Brampton to the Forks of the Credit Road. Turn left and wind your way up to just before the picturesque village of Belfountain and turn right (north) onto Mississauga Rd, wind your way past the Caledon Ski Club and turn right onto Cataract Rd. Go past the Trans Canada Trail entrance to the Forks of the Credit Provincial Park to Charleston Sideroad. Cross Charleston, where the road name changes to Main Street, and continue up past the Osprey Valley Golf Course to Alton. Turn left at the stop sign onto Queen Street, then right onto Amelia Street to the Alton Mill driveway on the left.
Is there anything else to do in the area?
Yes! You could get some relaxation in at the Millcroft Inn and Spa or come a little early to the Alton Mill Art Centre and browse the galleries at the Mill! One of our favourite things about the venue is all the beautiful art it houses and all the wonderful artists Alton supports.
Alton is home to four large studios and a number of artists studios, most of which keep their doors open for guests to take a look around.
Outside, you can pay a visit to the resident blacksmith or amble around Alton's grounds, which connects to the Bruce trial and features a look out point behind the Mill.
Will there be an Open Bar?
There will be an open bar during cocktail hour and the reception. The bar will close during dinner service, but wine will be served at the table.
Will there be food?
There will be plenty of food! We are having a cocktail hour with canapés, a sit down dinner, a dessert table, and a late night snack!
