🍦 San Juan Soda Co. – A classic ice cream and soda shop that’s been part of the community since the 1950s. Try the cream soda, we’re obsessed!

🏔️ Off-road the Alpine Loop – Lake City is famous for the Alpine Loop, a 4-6 hour long loop through the San Juan Mountains. There are various places in town to rent off-road vehicles from to make the journey.

🎣 Fishing – Lake San Cristobal is known for trout and kokanee salmon fishing, with other nearby rivers and streams well known for fly fishing. There are various places in town to rent gear or buy bait from. Make sure to get a temporary fishing license from the state.

🌠 Take in the night sky – Lake City is both remote and at high elevation. This makes it ideal for stargazing, and on a clear night, you can see the Milky Way with the naked eye!

🏔️ Take a hike – take a short hike to a waterfall or a longer one up a fourteener.
