Meghan scrolled through the photos on Happn'd - yet another Bay Area dating app - and saw a sweet face in a blue hoodie. She "charmed" the fellow letting him know she'd like to chat. Jerry liked her back and so commenced the online chatting. After three weeks they decided to meet up.

One rainy Saturday Meghan sat on train travelling the hour and 15 minute commute from her home by the Pacific to a coffee shop in the Dogpatch neighborhood.

That same day Jerry left a brunch with his future housemates to drive across the Bay Bridge to meet Meghan at a Philz Coffee.

Both thought they were "too busy" and "it's such a long commute", however, they'd said they would show up and they are people of their word. So at 11:15 am on that dreary San Francisco day Meghan sat waiting when Jerry walked into the cafe with his teal rain jacket and purple tennis shoes. She hopped up and greeted him immediately feeling at ease with this new person. Soon the pair were discussing family and friends, college days and US culture.

They went from Philz to the Minnesota Street Gallery. From there they journeyed to Magnolia Brewing where Meghan ate her share of collard greens, cornbread, and baked beans while Jerry watched in admiration. They shared an joy of tasting new brews and continued to delve into their personal histories sharing about family and lived experiences.

As the afternoon whisked by they went for walk in the mist among the abandoned warehouses and overpriced event venues lining the Bay. At one point, Jerry wrapped his arms around Meghan's waist and kissed her. A musical montage sprung forth around them with exquisite dancing and brilliant colors.

Jerry walked Meghan to the MUNI stop where she would then venture to an All Blues rugby beer bust with her friend from undergrad who was visiting while he moved onward to a Storelli birthday.

"I'm planning this Startup Weekend event and will be busy for the next two weeks. Let's get together afterward." Jerry said. Meghan replied with a giddy "okay" fully planning to bombard this new beau with texts.

Three days later...

[Hi, I have a meeting near Union Square at 7pm. Do you want to get dinner beforehand?] text from Jerry
