We realize that many of you would need to travel in order to attend our wedding. Your presence alone is the ultimate gift to us! To assist us in the planning process, if you know that you will not be able to join us (we completely understand), please let us know as early as possible!

PARKING LOT: 219 Holcombe Branch Rd VENUE/DROP OFF: 197 Holcombe Branch Rd   We will have a shuttle service to take guests from the parking lot to the venue as it’s very steep from the parking area to the venue.

Our Wedding

Carter and Melanie met the very first weekend of college at Marquette at a Brewers game. They shared several classes together in undergrad!

The First Meeting

Carter and Mel reconnected junior year of college. Their first date was getting breakfast and going to the gym together. Carter asked Melanie to be his girlfriend on October 13, 2018. 

The First Date

Carter and Melanie fell in love with the Carolinas on a road trip after finishing grad school in 2022. They moved to Charlotte together in August 2023!

The Big Move

The Proposal

Carter proposed to Melanie on the beach in Charleston on July 20, 2024 with a romantic picnic set-up, and surprised Melanie by flying in friends and family from the Midwest to celebrate!

The Kitties

Carter and Mel “adopted” the King family childhood cat, Lily, in 2022. Lily did not ask for a sibling, but was blessed with Millie the kitten (named for their meeting place of Milwaukee) in 2023. The two kitties are now frenemies.

Melanie’s forever best friend since high school. They’ve been through everything together and still call themselves the “gf’s.” They’ve been long distance besties since graduating high school, until June 2024 when Mikaila also moved to Charlotte!

Carter’s older brother, they’ve spent countless hours together in the woods hunting, on the water fishing, and in the yard playing sports. Melanie struggled to understand the fishing addiction the King family has. She inevitably will get annoyed with Carter and Bennett by the third day of Florida vacations, due to the endless hours spent fishing.

Roommates all four years of college, Mel and Vanessa were so inseparable at Marquette that everyone thought they were sisters. Vanessa always encourages Melanie to step outside of her comfort zone - like when she convinced her to join a sorority!

Carter’s freshman year roommate who snores very loud. Carter wore earplugs to bed freshman year, but their friendship survived.

Melanie’s college roommate, sorority sister, and study buddy through graduate school together.

One of Carter’s junior and senior year roommates. No glass of tomato juice is safe around him.

Melanie’s cousin and best friend since birth, Maria is a like a sister to Melanie. They have been planning their weddings together since they were about 5 years old.

One of Carter’s junior and senior year roommates. Connor and Liam lived next to Gino and Carter freshman year. Connor would frequently follow Carter and Mel home early from the bars to watch nature shows together.

Melanie and Nikki’s friendship goes way back to grade school at St. John’s. Nikki and Melanie have been through lots of life stages together, from middle school, to mission trips, cheering each other on through PA school, and now both live in Charlotte!

One of Carter’s junior and senior year roommates. Liam’s grandma would host the roommates every Sunday for a family dinner throughout college.

Neighbors with Melanie and Carter in Charlotte, Anna is Mel’s real-life Friends neighbor across the hall! They share a love for Poppi sodas and random Target runs.

Sam and Carter spent many mornings in the gym doing nothing but bench press throughout high school. Their drive for incomplete, unbalanced workouts created a friendship that’s lasted for 10+ years.

A perfect day trip from Ashevile! Grandfather Mountain offers a rugged hiking experience with free access to over 13 miles of trails and backcountry camping.&nbsp;It's known for its challenging terrain, including steep climbs with ladders and cables. Purchase tickets to enter the park, where activities include the Mile High Swinging Bridge and wildlife habitats.

One of our favorite breweries in the Asheville area! Take a tour of the brewery or enjoy the huge outdoor space with live music, fire pits, games, and gardens.

Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Chestnut Mountain Golf Course winds through matured pines, towering oaks, and tranquil ponds. Other options for golf include Omni Grove Park Inns course in Asheville, and Sequoyah National Golf Club (further drive, but more mountain views and elevation changes).
