TIME ZONES & FLIGHT INFORMATION
First things first...note Hawaii's time zone! Hawaii is 3 hours ahead of Pacific Time, 5 hours ahead of Central Time & 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time. Although it may seem odd that our ceremony is at 8:30am in Hawaii, it's actually at 11:30am California time, 1:30pm Texas time & 2:30pm NYC time.
We would recommend booking your flight as early in the morning as possible from your departure city because we guarantee you will be ready to go to sleep before sun goes down in Hawaii! If possible, we recommend flying in on Friday or Saturday prior to our wedding to get adjusted to the time change a day or two before.
RENTING A CAR
You do not need to rent a car during your stay in Waikiki for any of our wedding festivities. All of our events are within walking distance to each other and Uber is widely available throughout the city. Parking at the resorts or in a parking garage near your air bnb will typically cost $35 or more per day.
Also note the Honolulu airport is about a 30 minutes drive from The Royal Hawaiian and around $30 or less via Uber. The great think about Waikiki is that everything is walkable and you can find pretty much anything you need within a block or two!
Should you plan to drive to the North Shore before or after our wedding (and we hope you do!) we recommend that you rent a car. We would suggest spending at least a day exploring the North Shore if you have time!
ROOM BLOCKS
Please note we do not have a room block anywhere. We do, however, recommend staying somewhere within walking distance or Uber distance to The Royal Hawaiian. Ben and I will be staying at The Sheraton Waikiki (our favorite hotel in Waikiki) Sunday and Monday night during our wedding festivities.
For those who choose to stay in an air bnb or for those of you who are big snackers like we are, there are plenty of stores to purchase groceries nearby. There is a Walmart and Target located 1.5 miles from The Royal Hawaiian. You can also find many convenience stores close by that are open late.
Ben and I will have tons of snack and drinks in our suite - please know they will be available to you at all times!!
