Our Wedding

We met around Thanksgiving in 2021 in the modern fairytale of online dating. We realized that we grew up about 40min from each other in Pennsylvania! It was fun having a familiarity of things and places from back home after so many years. Our first date started out at Top Golf, except we never got to golf since it was Saturday night and they were fully booked. We pivoted to Dave &amp; Busters for dinner and games, where I kicked his butt in skee ball and he kicked mine at snowboarding VR. We finished off the night back at Top Golf just talking and having a really good time and just didn't want the night to end. To me, Troy was handsome and had his life together and even though we don't share alot of common hobbies, we do have skiing in common, which is my favorite. Most of all Troy is great to talk to about anything and everything and we clicked naturally. However, it was the promise of his mom's shoefly pie that sealed the deal for me! Yea, keep that stuff coming!

Melissa's Storyline

Ignore whatever Melissa tells you, this is the real story. We met online through one of those dating apps, after she blew me off in a different one. Yes, it took TWO apps to get her attention! We connected on the fact that we grew up in the same general area and expanded on similar interests of the outdoors and skiing. We finally had our first date a few weeks after Thanksgiving and, of course, it didn't go as planned. My attempt to reserve a bay at TopGolf fell through and they couldn't get us in, so we decided to hit Dave &amp; Busters for dinner and games. We talked a big game about who be better at what and after kicking her butt at VR snowboarding, I felt she had to win at skee-ball. She "won" 4 out of 5 games, but I won the night! What started off as a potential disaster, ended up being one of the best nights I had in years. I knew by the time dinner was over that she was something special (and probably bat-crap crazy!), but also someone I could spend a lifetime with. Since then, she's become my rock, my foundation, my best friend.

There are a bunch of things to do in Gatlinburg. Shopping, wine tasting, or mountain coasters. There is an Aquarium, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Sky bridge. Parking and traffic is always a challenge, so plan for plenty of time and patience.

There are a lot of shows, arcades and race car tracks in pigeon forge as well as restaurants. Traffic is always a challenge, so plan for plenty of time and patience.

There is no park entrance fee, but you will need a day parking pass for parking longer than 15min. Check out the website for specific areas for hiking, driving and exploring.
