Red Rock State Park is a 286 acre nature preserve and environmental education center with stunning scenery. Trails throughout the park wind through manzanita and juniper to reach the rich banks of Oak Creek. Green meadows are framed by native vegetation and hills of red rock. The creek meanders through the park, creating a diverse riparian habitat abounding with plants and wildlife.

It’s about a 1-hour journey from Sedona north to Flagstaff along Rt. 89A, a scenic mountain drive ascending 4,500 feet through sandstone canyons into the aspens and pine forests. Flagstaff has artsy, college-town vibes, plenty of restaurants, and lovely bed and breakfasts. It is also an International Dark Sky City with some of the clearest nighttime skies perfect for star-gazing.
