Q + A

Can we bring our kids?

Yes please! If you know us, you know we love kids & family and would love them to be a part of our special day!

What will we eat?

Following the Ceremony (~11am) we will have some appetizers at Rigg's. The Reception begins at 3pm, and we will have some appetizers, and then the buffet will open around 4pm. The food will include salad, toasted ravioli, garlic donuts, mozzarella sticks, and pizza (different types including cheese, veggie, and meats). We will have vegetarian options for appetizers at both places and on the buffet. If you have additional dietary restrictions please note these when you RSVP.

Is there a dress code?

No dress code (other than tops/bottoms/footwear of some sort)! Whatever you consider to be wedding attire works great for us. We want you to come ready to make great memories. Our ceremony is outside in a beer garden, so you may possibly walk on grass/gravel for a short time (although there is a large patio). The reception will be indoors. The after-celebration is at a 'dive' bar.

What do we do between the ceremony and reception?

It is up to you! You may hang out at Riggs as long as you would like (it opens to the public at 12pm), go to one of our many parks and playgrounds, tour campus, take a nap, or any of the other many things available in the Urbana-Champaign area!

What do we do after the reception?

Come join us at Rose Bowl (see the After Celebration information)! We should know what band is there closer to the wedding date, but they always have live music and a great patio with a tent to enjoy. There are a couple of food options in downtown Urbana by Rose Bowl (Bunnys is open late night). There are also a number of things to do around the Urbana-Champaign area!

Is there anything before or after the day of the wedding?

If you are traveling to Urbana-Champaign the days before or staying after, please reach out to us! We will be around and will plan on a couple of things to do somewhere in town to spend more time with everyone. We will share more information and details when it is available!

Is there a hotel block/preferred hotel?

No, we do not have a hotel block or a preferred hotel for guests to stay. Rates for hotels were cheaper on booking websites like expedia, hotels.com, and others than they were for the hotel block rates with the hotel. This also allows guests to pick an accommodation that fits their interests, location, amenities, and budget. We provided several options under 'Accommodations,' but there are numerous other options. If guests have any questions about the different options, please let us know!

What should we expect at the wedding?

Expect to bring and enjoy the fun! The most important thing to us is to spend time with family and friends as we celebrate the start of married life together. The wedding is not formal, we much prefer a laid-back celebration. The ceremony is non-denominational and will be focused on our union before our friends and family.
