Lorenzo and Melody attended nursing school together at Grand Canyon University, both driven students pursuing their degrees. They had mutual friends but had begun to notice each other more and more towards the end of their nursing school journey, where they would spend countless hours in the library. It soon grew to be more than a passing hello in the hallway, but daily conversations and getting to know each other. They had their first date in December of 2024, in a small-town Christmas light show, surrounded by twinkling lights and chilly air.Two months of endless calls, study dates led to something more than just friendship. One January evening, sitting in the car in a Chipotle parking lot in Phoenix, Lorenzo asked Melody to be his girlfriend. They were challenged as they pushed to succeed in their final semester of nursing school.By April 2025, the two walked across the stage at their GCU graduation. They knew, even then, that God had written their story with precision and grace.Now, both Melody and Lorenzo work as nurses in the ICU and Pediatric ICU—serving others at their most vulnerable moments with compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication. Their calling as nurses is just the beginning. Together, they dream of continuing their journey by serving in their church, beginning their lives as a married couple, and eventually going back to school together.Their wedding day isn’t just a celebration of romance—it’s a testimony. A testimony of faith and divine timing. Surrounded by family, friends, and the God who brought them together, Melody and Lorenzo step into marriage not as the end of a love story, but as the beginning of a beautiful covenant. A life of service. A life of joy. A life hand-in-hand.
