Amidst of the pandemic in 2020, Meredith and Mike met in the cardiology department of a medical center in downtown Baltimore. Mike was getting an echocardiogram done to check on a short bout of tachycardia that occurred playing lacrosse one day. Meredith happened to be the sonographer assigned to this tall, dark and handsome (and healthy!) patient in a Washington Capitals shirt.

Their first dates were brunches, kayaking, and home made meals. After a month, Meredith planned a secret trip out west as a gentle hazing to see what this guy was really about. You can tell a lot about a person in seeing how they travel, how they drink and how they hike!

The couple traveled to Las Vegas and back within 60 hours. In that timeframe they wore masks in 95 degree heat, stayed at Caesars Palace, dined at the Bellagio, drove hours and back to Zion National Park, brought a small fear of heights to the surface, and Mike told Meredith ‘I love you’ for the first time under the starry Utah night sky.

From that point on, their lives have been filled with adventure, personal and professional growth, and a lot of love. They are truly each others best friend and have just begun to blossom thanks to their deep love, support, and affection for each other.

In July of 2023 Mike planned a trip to Portland for the couple. Upon approaching the Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse on the rocky coast of Maine, Mike asked for Meredith to be his wife. Meredith said yes before he finished the question. Fun Fact: Mikes knee hit the ground so hard that he drew blood!

They will be returning to the National Park where their story began to go from “I Love You” to “I Do” in an intimate ceremony with immediate family and wedding party in the spring of 2025.

In the meantime, a large engagement party/pre-destination wedding reception will be hosted on the east coast at the farm in which the couple resides.
