CARSON'S- best brunch in town and a great upscale dinner spot. Good cocktails. Reservations highly recommended. (Ben's fav)
EPPING'S- good for brunch with bottomless mimosas. Reservations help.
GOODFELLAS- There are two in town. Go to the one in the distillery district. Great area, counter service, by the slice pizza.
THE GOOSE- casual bar food dining with a great patio.
CHARLIE BROWNS- Dive bar dining. Good burgers and cheap beer.
KENTUCKY NATIVE CAFE-A Garden center turned beer garden. Light bites, drinks, and coffee. (Mer's fav)
JOSIE'S- diner style breakfast/lunch. Does not take reservations.
LOCAL TACO- street style tacos and margs

BOURBON ON RYE- The bride and groom's favorite. Classic cocktail bar. Ask for Dan and tell him you are in town for our wedding!

NORTH LIME- good coffee and great donuts with gluten free options. Locations all over town.
OLD SCHOOL COFFEE- inside an old schoolhouse near downtown. The specialty drinks are school themed.
THIRD STREET- funky coffee shop near downtown.
I've got a lot of free time. What should I do?
TOUR A DISTILLERY- reservations to tour book up pretty far in advance but you can also just go visit the distillery. Most of them have restaurants and bars/lounges you can hang out at. Castle and Key is a local must and absolutely stunning. Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace are also pretty close to Lexington. You will need a car to do this.
MARY TODD LINCOLN HOUSE- America's 16th first lady's childhood home. 1-hour tour. Located downtown.
KEENELAND- Racing is not in season but there are usually events/tours going on the grounds.
KENTUCKY HORSE PARK- fully operational horse farm open to the public.
AVIATION MUSEUM - located near the airport.
KENTUCKY THEATRE- located in downtown. Historical theatre that now shows modern movies.
UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY- take a walk around campus located in the heart of the city. The Arboretum is located on campus and has a great paved walking trail.
OLD FRIENDS THOROUGGHBRED RETIREMENT FARMS- horse farm open to the public where some of the most famous horses retire to.
Local shopping:
JUSTIN'S HOUSE OF BOURBON- local bourbon store with tasting bar and many antique and rare labels.
THE SUMMIT- outdoor mall with shops and restaurants.
THE DOMESTIC- local antique and vintage store. (One of Mer's favs and has a store cat)
JOSEPH-BETH BOOKSELLERS- local large bookstore
STREET SCENE VINTAGE- local vintage clothing store attached to a coffee shop.
