James and Mia first met in college at the University of Hartford. They talked, hung out, and got to know each other over the semester.

After spending that first semester together, they finally started dating at midnight on New Years' Day

The next year consisted of traveling back and forth from Connecticut to New Hampshire, and vice versa, any chance the couple got. Getting tired of the distance, James and Mia decided to rent their first apartment together in Hartford, CT in 2018.

3 months of living together made the couple notice they were missing something; a small fur baby of their own. Mickey came into their lives, and completed their family...for the time being.

3 years spent in Hartford, James and Mia had enough, and moved into their second apartment in Bloomfield, CT. A major upgrade in all areas of life, the couple finally started feeling like they were on a groove and kicking life's butt.

With everything in their lives relatively stable, James and Mia felt like they were ready to open their home and complete their family. On May 12, 2022, Nutmeg came home and filled their home with life, laughter, and LOTS of meows

FINALLY! After 7 years of dating, of battling life together, and creating a home full of love, James proposed to Mia at Pemaquid Beach in Bristol, Maine!
