Our Wedding

I had come to terms with how my life would play out. I would get a tiny home and live with my dogs and my chickens on my mom’s property. I would be the cool aunt. Travel. Immerse myself in my work and love myself until the right man wedged himself into the equation. When I laid my eyes on Mike, the walls that I had built silently fell before me. He didn’t know it yet, but I had already pronounced him as my future husband to my closest friends and family. The truth was, we hadn’t even spoken yet. Mike was very slow to reply to my messages, which often left me wondering if he was truly interested. One night, on the eve of Mike’s 34th birthday, I had just enough cocktail courage and invited him out to join my friends and I in the Old Port. Lindsey, my BEST friend was in town and that rarely happens. I had to take the opportunity to not only meet my future husband, but also have my best friend meet him too. When Mike approached the bar, I could see him walking up the sidewalk outside. My heart raced. I was excited. It felt like 100 years in the making. But he was here. Before anyone could say anything, I walked right up to him and kissed him. Yep, and as I stepped back and looked up at his smile. It was then I knew. I was right all along. We were meant to fall into this life together. He immediately captivated me in every way. He was smart, sexy, and sensitive. He made colors and sounds come alive. He inspired me to be courageous. He made me feel good. And most importantly, he loved my dogs. We quickly became a family. One day, soon after we first met. Mike took me out on the ocean. It was a day I will never forget. We went fishing and listened to music while Daisy stood watch on the bow. The way the water moved against the hull of the boat. The birds in the sky dancing in sync with wind. I felt everything in my life all at once come and rest peacefully in my heart. I knew at that very moment; I loved Mike deeply and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. The time we spend on the water will always remind me of who Mike is and how he makes me feel. Completely at peace, and wildly in love. Making him my husband and growing the life we have together will always be my greatest gift.&nbsp;

I had given up on love. One last Tinder profile reboot was all that I had. I revised my profile to what I would really want out of a life partner, a girl with sass looking for adventure. I turned off my notifications because I had already accepted that I would live the rest of my life as the cool uncle with a slip on the ocean that would take my family out on adventures they would never otherwise have the opportunity to experience. Little did I know there was a crazy chicken lady out there thinking the same thing...   I returned to my app to find a crazy person having a conversation with herself but she was pretty cute and I found myself drawn to her. After a few days of back and forth, I knew I needed to find time for this one. On the eve of my birthday, I received a selfie of two beautiful women dressed to impress from a rooftop bar requesting my company. If there is one thing I learned from the movie Hitch is the way to a woman’s heart is through their friends and this would be my chance to start off meeting her best friend in the world.   Being the eve of my birthday I decided to put down my walls and wrap up work “early” and find out what she was all about. After a quick shower, I was off to a small nightclub with no idea what I was getting myself into. Upon walking up to the establishment I was met on the sidewalk and greeted not with a hello, but a great big smack on the lips. Although unsure what to make of this I was impressed by the boldness and followed her into the club.   Here I met some of Taylor's old friends and of course Lindsey. She was full of sass, energy, and of course alcohol. Sitting together she reached over and grabbed my hand set them together on my leg, and proceeded to hold my hand as she talked with her friends. Usually, an alarm would go off and I would run for the hills, but this felt different. I drove them to their vehicle and Lindsey said her goodbyes and tucked behind the corner of the building to give us a minute. We shared our first kiss to a favorite track of mine by Flux Pavilion “ I can’t stop”. This felt appropriate as I never wanted it to end.   I just couldn’t get enough and I needed to see her again. I was sure I won over her friends, but now it was Taylor's turn to win over mine. Tim was in town and we were headed out on a 30-foot closed cabin boat the following Saturday and I asked her to jump aboard. I’m sure that day was as crazy for her as our night in the club was for me. On the ocean that day we secured a place in each other’s hearts and set a precedent for the life of adventure we would share, bound together around the sea. After returning home and her departure I simply turned to Tim and asked, What do you think? His response was, “I feel like we’ve known her our entire life.” It was that moment when I knew I had found my person, the woman I would marry.

When people think about planning a wedding or getting married, it all looks and feels different for everyone. Some imagine backyard gatherings or destination weddings. Some instantly imagine large ballgown dresses and their favorite cake. For Mike and I, the first thing we imagined was having all of you with us. Dancing, laughing, crying. We imagined you up with us at midnight singing under the stars. We imagined sharing our love and very very special moment with you. We didn't know where or how, but it was you that gave us the desire to do this. All that you are going to see and feel with us on our wedding day, was inspired by the people who shaped us. There was no greater need than for Mike and I to share our happy ending with every person along the way that saw our first drafts. People who stood by us when we needed it most. Both as individuals before we met, and long after. Sure, we could have run to town hall and made it official long ago. But that isn't the wedding we imagined. Because, well simply put - you wouldn't have been able to make it. As you watch us walk down the aisle and commit the rest of our lives to each other, just know we made it to this point because of you and the way you love us. Thank you, so so very much. Taylor's best friend and former college roommate. These girls go way back. Inked in matching tattoos that Lindsey designed, these two are sisters at heart, that speak a language only they can understand. Born on punk rock music, honey buns, and Boston public transit. This is one friendship that knows no end. One friendship that has always reminded Taylor just how lucky she is. In April Lindsey and her husband, Andrew welcomed their first child and named her Isla Taylor.

Since elementary school Mike and Cody have been talking each other's ear off and everyone else's for that matter. After a lifetime spent on the mountain and having spent a quarter of their lives together under one roof these two were truly brothers from different mothers. Mike had the honor of standing by Cody’s side while he married the woman of his dreams and now it's his moment to share the same honor.

Work-wife made lifetime bestie. The impact Amanda has made in Taylor's life is unmeasurable. From their days in the office to producing film festivals to regularly scheduled holiday dinner dates. Amanda is genuinely one of Taylor's biggest fans as Taylor is one of Amanda's loudest cheerleaders.

Two kids from the same block, Sean and Michael spent nearly their whole lives together through trucks, playing sports, and studying engineering together at the University of Maine. Through the toughest of times, they always stood by each other, unconditionally. No questions asked. Together they took on anything that came their way. They would not be where they are today without the other to pull them out of a ditch or two.

Sister from the mister! Is that a thing? When Taylor met Mike, she didn't know the impact it would have on her tribe. Caitlin's energy and support of their relationship spoke volumes to Taylor as she became part of their social circle. Later on, Caitlin was married to her own soulmate and as Mike stood as the best man, Taylor was able to lend Caitlin a hand with the details. An honor one couldn't forget but only return.

Having met crammed into a Saturn on a 14-hour drive to a concert, Michael and Jay were destined to be partners in crime. Living side by side in the fast lane they shared enough excitement to last several lifetimes. Two years later, after standing at the altar by his side, Jay will be there in support for one more night that they will never forget...or maybe remember.

Taylor's little brother got lucky with this one! Meet Rich's wife, Megan. When Taylor first met Megan, she was in need of a sister and was so grateful her little brother had met not only a woman so deeply perfect for him, but for the family. Megan & Taylor share a love for Vans sneakers (and Warped Tour), clothes they don't need and one very special boy; Rich.

After meeting Matt during his first semester in college, his life would never be the same. After endless nights of video and drinking games, the network of friends built while together seemed to become endless. Matt would eventually find a 'house' that would put seven of the best friends you could ever ask for under one single roof. Three will stand by his side for this special day. His pup Manny, Kyle, and his pup Razzle, will share this day with us in spirit. We will never forget that 9 out of 10 nuns agree that God loves good times.

Married to the best man, and now, standing as a bridesmaid for Taylor, Alyssa has been a supporter of this love story from day 1. They have spent time sharing their mutual love for their dogs, their men, sports betting, T- Swift, snowboarding, good times and, a good drink. (Not in that order...) Taylor is honored to have Alyssa stand beside her on this special day.

Through an electric connection starting with music, Tim has always been one of Mike's biggest supporters. They stood side by side while vibrations flew through the air at a seemingly endless amount of concerts, sharing some of the most unique and memorable experiences one could imagine. He was always a driving force for Mike to follow his dreams and lifted him to places he could have never reached without his encouragement.

"There is a spot in my heart that is only for my brother." As Taylor and Mike commit to each other in front of their family and friends, they welcome Taylor's little brother, Rich to lead this very special moment and pronounce them husband and wife.

These two young ladies were born to celebrate every aspect of life. Through young, caring, and courageous eyes these two make everyone smile, laugh, and love deeper. Daughters to Cris and Anne Karson, Taylor is honored to have them walk down the aisle. When Taylor asked them if they wanted to be flower girls, Lily proudly proclaimed they were "Wild" Flower girls -  and we couldn't describe them better in any way.

Kristan is a powerhouse, pageant queen, Taylor's good friend, and former co-worker. Coming from the PR world, Kristan knows production, people, and punctuality. She is also insanely sweet. Successful podcaster, on-air TV personality and Miss Portland, USA - Kristan will be on-site for all vendor coordination and to guide guests who may have questions. Please say hello and give her a hand when you can.

We Are Asking Guests to Pitch In

In lieu of gifts or a registry: we are asking guests who wish to stay overnight pay a certain rate, per person, for either one or two nights. This helps pay for your cabin, and ALL food. All meals including breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner will be supplied.&nbsp;Water, soda, and coffee is also included. Hotels are not immediately available in the surrounding area and this will give you the opportunity to stay in a clean, comfortable space right in the heart of Camp Auclair!&nbsp; We did this because we want our guests to come and enjoy our wedding - safely. We want you to get home safely. We do not want our guests attending a BYOB function, and driving themselves home. One Night: $100 Per Person.Two Nights: $150 Per Person.Ceremony &amp; Reception Only: $60 Per Person. Sheets (if renting): $0 We kindly ask payments are received by September 1st, 2024. How to Pack for BYOB

This is a BYOB weekend-long event! Beer, seltzers and canned cocktails can be consumed anywhere on campus and do not require the use of a Yeti or solid colored cup. All hard alcohol and wine will be served by our staff at designated cocktail hours. What you do in your cabin is your own business. Aka. Make your drinks in a discreet place and carry around campus in a cup that you can't see-through.&nbsp;Please be responsible and clean up after yourself. See your camp guide for more information on what to pack. We will be permitting coolers of all sizes and will have designated 'cooler' parking so you can keep your supplies close by. (wheels are recommended) Yeti cups or other cups with a lid that are solid in color can be carried throughout the property at all hours. Be responsible. Staff can report any guest and have them removed for disorderly behavior and we will pretend we do not know you if this is the case.&nbsp;

All RSVP'd guests will have a place to sleep if they wish to stay overnight. Some accomodations are private cabins with full &amp; queen beds, some are shared cabins with bunk beds. We have spent hours finding you and your plus one the perfect spot to crash amongst our mix of friends and families and want everyone to feel comfortable. Most couples are either in a single cabin, or in a large shared cabin with one other couple. This allows you extra floor space to bring an air mattress should you wish to skip the bunks and use those as giant luggage stands. With that being said, once RSVP's are returned, we will reach out to everyone via email or text with their own unique cabin assignment, and bed information so you can plan to bring sheets and a mattress if you wish. Please let us know when you RSVP if you need to rent sheets. Pricing ranges from $15-$25.

Off Limits

Camp Mataponi is large and while not all areas are open to guests, you can enjoy a walk around the campus. Observe signs that indicate access is not permitted. Camp Guide

Travel

Camp Auclair guests are allowed to use all onsite kayaks and paddle boards. There is a sandy beach too! Go for a swim, the water is nice. There is a designated swimming area and a water trampoline. Our friends will have boats anchored for the weekend, keep an eye out for your captain Mike who may take you for a cruise at some point. Bring a large blanket and picnic on the lawn before the ceremony. Camp Auclair is a large campus and while not all areas are open to guests, you can walk all trails and take in the beautiful grounds.
