So, you're telling us that in the midst of a faux-moustache-filled celebration for a DIT's facial hair anniversary, Lisa stumbled upon Michael in a camera truck, blasting rap music like it was a scene straight out of a quirky indie film? And all this during a Hallmark Christmas movie set in the dead of summer, no less? Sounds like a meet-cute straight out of a rom-com script! “Michael and I met on the set of the hallmark movie “A Joyous Christmas”. It was my first show as a Trainee Assistant Director and I went to the camera truck to ask if he needed a callsheet because everyone was wearing fake moustaches on set to celebrate this DIT’s 1yr birthday party of his moustache. He was blasting rap music lit by Christmas lights in the back of the camera truck. He really did have me at hello. Or, did I have him?” - Lisa&nbsp; “She popped up at the back of the truck so bubbly. It was like she was floating on air.”&nbsp;- Michael&nbsp;

The Meet-Cute 

Oh, the glamorous life of a DIT! From a camera truck filled with Christmas lights and rap music to the back of a car parked in a frozen field—it's clear that Michael and Lisa know how to keep things interesting on set. Who needs a cozy editing suite when you can have the thrill of working in sub-zero temperatures with a car door as your makeshift desk? It's a wonder they didn't end up with frostbite and a screenplay about their adventures! “I asked Sang if he would come out to set to be my DIT for our Crazy 8’s production, my first Producing opportunity.” - Lisa&nbsp; “So I remember asking her “so where do I set up?” And she responded “oh fuck”. We were in the middle of a frozen field in the MOT40 in winter on a nightshoot. “Can you work in the back of your car and park on set?” she asks. And I said “oh yeah sweet!”&nbsp;- Michael&nbsp;

Bordered: Will you be my DIT… and work out of the back of your car? 

So, Michael went from blasting rap in a camera truck to belting out Barbra Streisand in a slick black car? Talk about range! And who knew that rapping could leave such a lasting impression on a windshield? It sounds like Michael's got some serious skills—both behind the camera and behind the wheel. And Lisa, well, she seems to have a knack for finding the humor in even the most bizarre situations. If their short film is half as entertaining as their behind-the-scenes antics, they're sure to win that grant—and maybe even a few hearts along the way. (We won the hearts, not the grant.)&nbsp; “I’m going up for a $10,000 grant but we might have to make this thing for $5000. Would you help me make this thing?” - Michael&nbsp; “He picked me up for a location scout in a slick black manual transmission car blaring Barbra Streisand and started singing his heart out. Later I asked him what all the dots on his windshield were from and he said it was from rapping. He was spitting rhymes right into my heart.”&nbsp;&nbsp;- Lisa&nbsp;

Killing for Spark 

Oh, the classic "awkward introduction at a wrap party" move! Michael really knows how to make an impression, doesn't he? From rapping on windshields to skipping lines at The Pint, he's got a unique set of skills that would make any girl swoon—or at least laugh. And Lisa, bless her heart, braved the awkward introduction and questionable dance moves to find a group of friends that welcomed her with open arms. It's a true testament to the power of a great wrap party and the magic of a sleepover invitation. Who needs a fairy tale romance when you can have a real Hallmark story filled with rap-spattered windshields and line-skipping heroics? “We absolutely slay the shoot, post production and we were gearing up for a huge festival run. The wrap party was a viewing party blast for everyone. Shout out to Jaycie for throwing the event in her buildings common room!! I will never forget meeting all of Mikes closest friends. At this point we had been spending a lot of time together. He walked me over and presented me in the most awkward way possible to a table of absolutely beaming smiling faces. I was nervous but they were so warm and excited. The rest is history.”- Lisa&nbsp; “That’s when I asked so do you wanna come have a sleep over? We went dancing at The Pint after. I knew the bouncer and he let us skip the line which made me seem extra bullish. I’ll never forget watching her that night. She said yes to the sleepover and still came home with me despite my dance moves.” - Michael&nbsp;

And so, we come to the end of the prologue — a story filled with rap music, fake moustaches, frozen fields, and the occasional awkward introduction. Michael and Lisa, a duo that proves that love can bloom in the most unexpected of places—from the back of a camera truck to the common room of a building. With a little bit of creativity, a lot of laughter, and the occasional sleepover invitation, they've shown us that even the most unconventional beginnings can lead to a beautiful partnership. So here's to Michael and Lisa, a gentle reminder to embrace the humour in life's little moments and to never underestimate the power of a poorly grown moustache and a good rap lyric.

Is NOLA really THAT hot? 

Yes! It really is that hot, and the humidity can be intense. Welcome to the South, with all of its sweet sweet southern charm! We’ll be coming just before peak heat season in July &amp; August so we’ve hit the sweet spot. However please, be prepared for humid weather. Hats &amp; sunscreen are a must! Don’t forget your reusable water bottle and swimwear!

Is NOLA safe? 

Generally, yes. Have your travel senses turned on. Stick to the French Quarter after dark. Avoid Jackson Square after 10pm and don’t wander about alone. There is much respect for the tourist industry here.

Can I bring my baby? (Child/Children)

While this is an adult centred Wedding Tour, we hope you have a very cool baby or some very cool kids if you plan to bring yours along. Which, we’re sure you do. We already know of a couple of very cool babies potentially attending.Please let us know!

Is there a dress code? 

Weather appropriate and comfortable makes us the happiest. Semi-formal spring/summer attire that is breathable. Leave your silks at home, in NOLA they wear chiffon. Comfortable footwear. There will be lots of opportunities to walk the cobble streets!

Can I go hard on the first night of arrival? 

While we know it’s incredibly tempting, we recommend drinking lots of water. New Orleans is made of magic. Alcohol here hits fun, fast and hard with the humidity and the streets bustling alive no matter the day of the week. We recommend taking it easy on your travel day to ensure you get the most out of the rest of your trip. Unless you’re planning to join us for only the wedding day and then we recommend you going HARD AF.

Should I pack my dancing shoes? 

We hope you’ve planned to travel all this way to hit the floor with us! The French Quarter and Frenchmen Street are all about walking from place to place and taking in all the city has to offer. Needless to say you will be doing A LOT of walking on this trip. Comfortable footwear is a must!! But, wear the heels if you want, we know how good you look in em!

What if I can’t attend? 

Foremostly know that we will have all of our loved ones on our minds during this trip. We have family as far as the Philippines &amp; Italy that we know will be missing us dearly too. There will be a livestream for all those unable to attend.

One way Filipino's love to light up the dance floor with family and friends at weddings is through&nbsp;the money dance.&nbsp; Also known as the prosperity dance, or&nbsp;sabitan ng pera&nbsp;in Tagalog, it serves to usher in financial abundance in a couple’s marriage. For wedding guests, it’s a fun moment full of candid merriment and well-wishing. Everyone comes together with the bride and groom on the dance floor! In the Philippines, the laidback attitude of “bahala na!” (come what may) prevails, the couple begins their dance in the middle of the ballroom. As the music plays, guests are encouraged to approach the newlyweds as they wish. They’re free to decide when to take their turn on the dance floor and where to attach their cash一the veil, gown,&nbsp;barong,&nbsp;or pants! Money pinned or taped onto the new married couple's garments represents a wish that good fortune be "rained" upon them in their new lives as husband and wife.
