Stop At: Nairobi National Park, Nairobi Kenya


Discover the beauty of Nairobi National Park. See wildlife in their natural habitat, including lions, giraffes, and rhinos. Take in stunning views of the park’s savannah and enjoy a guided game drive. This tour typically begins very early in the morning if you want to catch the animals before it gets hot. You can expect pick up by 5:30am or earlier to start your tour between 6-6:30am.


The Nairobi National Park is a unique ecosystem that combines wildlife and city life. The park is home to over 100 mammal species and over 400 bird species. During your tour, you’ll see these animals up close and learn about their behaviors and habitats.


The park covers an area of 117 square kilometers and has diverse habitats, including open grass plains, riverine forests, and valleys. This supports a rich variety of wildlife, including large herds of buffalo, zebras, and wildebeest.


In addition to the game drive, you’ll learn about the park’s conservation efforts and challenges facing wildlife in Kenya. This tour provides an unforgettable experience while respecting the welfare of the animals.

The next stop is David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, open strictly between 11 am and 12 noon for a one-hour tour. During this time, you will have the incredible chance to mingle with rescued baby and teenage elephants. Prepare to be moved as you learn their unique stories, from how they arrived at the orphanage to how they received their names. You'll also gain insights into the trust's plans for their future release, adding an element of hope to this extraordinary experience.

Some tour services will provide a budget adventure with transfers direct from your Nairobi accommodation. You will see wildlife including lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebra, and rhino with guided game drives. Most packages includes park fees, most meals, and two nights in furnished safari tents (dependent on the tour services and package wanted).

The name "Amboseli" comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust", and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. It is located in Kajiado County and is about 3.5 hours from Nairobi.


You can expect to pay between Ksh17,000- 20,000 ($136-176) for a Nairobi National Park tour (could be a little more if you include the elephant orphanage and giraffe center) in a van that seats about 8 people (the type of vehicle will be a factor in the pricing). Maasai Market

The Maasai market has become popular throughout East Africa for the range of affordable and gorgeous souvenirs to take home. The market sells a wide range of antiques, jewellery, purses sandals, paintings, clothes etc.


The Maasai market in Nairobi has multiple locations on different days. The Maasai market on Saturday at the High Court parking (behind the Hilton hotel) is the most popular one but it is unlikely that people will have much time,if any on a Saturday during your trip. The Alternative locations are:
