Q + A

When do we need to RSVP by?

Please RSVP by May 18, 2024 at the latest.

Will the wedding be indoor or outdoor?

The wedding ceremony and reception will mostly be outdoors. Dinner will be in a sheltered indoor/outdoor space. Please keep in mind that July is typically hot in San Luis Obispo (upper 70s-80s), so bring your sunscreen! At night, it can cool down, so feel free to bring a shawl or light coat. We will try to remember to update this Q&A as the date gets closer to provide more accurate guidance on weather.

What is "Black Tie Optional"?

Black Tie Optional is essentially semi-formal. Men can wear any dark suit they fancy, it does not have to be a tux. Women can wear a nice dress.

Will shuttles be provided to and from the wedding?

Yes. To the wedding, there will be shuttles picking up from Embassy Suites, the Wayfarer SLO and the Courtyard Marriott SLO between 2:45-3PM. If you miss the shuttle, it will not loop back around so you will need to utilize Uber/Lyft. At the end of the night, the shuttles will drop off at all three of the hotels listed above and Bull's Tavern for those that want to attend the "after-party".

Is there parking on site (at La Lomita Ranch)?

Yes there is plenty of parking available for guests. You are welcome to keep your car there overnight if you cannot drive by the end of the night, you will just need to pick up your car by 11AM the next day (Sunday, July 7th).

Will Uber/Lyft go to and from the venue?

Yes, there are plenty of Ubers/Lyfts in the area and they can easily drop off at La Lomita Ranch. For absolute certainty, we recommend you schedule the rides in advance for the wedding day.

Will the ceremony start at 3:30PM sharp?

Yes, the ceremony will start at 3:30PM sharp. If you arrive late, the staff will hold you from entering the ceremony space until it is not disruptive, which is up to their discretion. We highly recommend taking a shuttle for timing purposes or to arrive 15 minutes early.

Since it is a Ranch, can I wear a cowboy hat?

Cowboy hats are totally fine - It is a ranch after all! We just ask you remove your hat during the ceremony. We just want everyone to be comfortable, so if you want a cowboy hat, please go for it! Just note that the attire otherwise is black-tie optional which will mostly consist of tuxes, suits and long dresses.

What should I expect for the Welcome Drinks the night before the wedding?

Welcome Drinks are super casual and just a chance for us to see you before the big, busy wedding day and spend some time together! You've come all this way for our wedding and we want to see as much of you as possible. We will have beer, wine and a few limited mixed drinks. There will also be small street tacos to munch on if you need a snack!

What should we expect for the "After Party"?

The After Party will be in downtown SLO after the wedding shuts down at 10PM. It is approximately a 10 minute drive. The goal is to go to McClintocks, which is a dive bar downtown. Although this is a wonderful establishment, they do not coordinate with private events and our staying there will be dependent on the number of guests/max capacity. Our hope is that since the college is on summer break at this time, that we will be able to easily get in and party the night away. However, there is a chance that due to the holiday weekend we will need to pivot to a different bar downtown. So if you are joining us, please be flexible and willing to pivot! We are here for a good time folks!
