For everyone traveling from out of state, the best airport to fly into will be Denver International (DIA). We are not securing a hotel block but listed below are some popular hotels in the area and lodging recommendations from the wedding venue. There are also many Airbnbs available in Estes Park. If you would be interested in a hotel block and/or transportation to and from the venue/hotel please let us know. If there is enough interest we can look into it. Shuttle services from DIA to Estes Park are available, however - UBER AND LYFT ARE NOT RELIABLE ONCE YOU ARE IN ESTES PARK. We highly recommend renting a car to travel to Estes Park unless you are planning on walking to the venue. We are so excited to welcome you to Estes Park! If you’re arriving a few days early for our wedding, we hope you’ll take time to explore this beautiful mountain town and everything it has to offer.

Rocky Mountain National Park

A visit to Rocky Mountain National Park is a must while you’re here. In late April, higher elevations remain snow-covered and Trail Ridge Road is typically still closed for the season, but the lower areas of the park are accessible and beautiful. Wildlife ViewingSpring is an excellent time to spot elk, deer, and even moose as they move to lower elevations. You’ll often see elk throughout town and in open meadows inside the park. Lower-Elevation Walks &amp; HikesPopular and accessible areas this time of year include:Bear Lake &amp; Sprague Lake.Alberta Falls, Cub Lake, Deer Mountain, and Gem Lake are also sometimes open this time of year.Trail conditions can vary widely — from dry to muddy to icy — depending on recent weather. Microspikes or other traction devices are strongly recommended, and waterproof hiking shoes are helpful. *Be sure to check current park conditions before heading out, and bring layers to stay warm.* Hiking &amp; SnowshoeingWhile true high-alpine hiking is not yet in season, late April is still a great time for lower-elevation hikes and even snowshoeing after a fresh snowfall. Scenic Drives

Even without access to the highest roads, there are beautiful scenic drives in the area. Peak to Peak Scenic BywayThis classic Colorado drive offers sweeping mountain views and charming small mountain towns along the way.The drive into Rocky Mountain National Park itself also offers numerous scenic pull-offs and overlooks perfect for photos.

Lake Estes Loop

The Lake Estes Loop is a paved four-mile path that circles the lake and offers panoramic views of Longs Peak and the surrounding mountains. It’s perfect for walking, jogging, or biking and is generally accessible in late April, weather permitting.

The Stanley Hotel is one of the most iconic landmarks in Estes Park. Built in 1909, this historic hotel famously inspired Stephen King’s novel The Shining. You can book a guided tour to learn about its history and architecture, or just stop in for a drink and explore the property.
