It started with a brunch where a nervous Robert nearly left the restaurant with his napkin.
 After a comedy show months later Robert knew he loved Mikaila. Her thoughtfulness, wit, and way she laughed had made a place in his heart.
It was at a baseball game, about two weeks later, Mikaila said those 4 words, “I love you too”, back. Robert’s terrible humor, charm, and ridiculous amount of useless trivia won out in the end.
Another important player to this story is Anya, Mikaila’s daughter. They were a packaged deal and Robert didn’t shy away. A big responsibility was taken on, helping raise a toddler, but now Robert can’t imagine his life without the two of them.
During the last almost two years, Mikaila and Robert have road tripped the Midwest, shared their love of new and unusual food, and bonded over being the oldest of a large family.
Skip forward to September 3, 2023 where somehow Robert was able to surprise Mikaila with a proposal, which if you know Mikaila took a lot of planning.
