Mikchail and Ylyssa met back in September 2012, during back-to-school season. Mikchail was waiting for his best friend Danielle when he eventually met his sister, Ylyssa, right there. Mikchail had courted Ylyssa twice, but each time ended with a 'no'. They had gone their separate ways, but still stayed friends. In 2019, they had started talking again during their annual "friends year end party". A few months later, they started seeing each other.

Year of 2021 had been one of most challenging year for both of them. Mikchail was involved in a car accident that altered his life forever. Mikchail was in the hospital/rehab for almost 3 months, and continued his recovery at home for 4 more months. The accident made their relationship even stronger, as she was there by his side to help him recover. Both had a life altering realization. Mikchail realized how lucky he was that she stayed and never left his side. Ylyssa realized that she wouldn't know what to do if she had lost him. Mikchail then realized that life's really short. He knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life together, and proposed in Tofino, BC on August 25, 2022.
