Travel Details
Our wedding venue is located in the small town of Shell Beach on the Central Coast of California. Shell Beach is an approximately 3 hour drive from Los Angeles (depending on traffic and when you leave.) Our wedding will be on a Friday. There are a few options for travel to the wedding:
If you live in Los Angeles you have a few choices:
1. Drive up on Friday morning and drive home after the Reception that night. It would be a long day, but a great option for those who are leaving kids at home.
2. Drive up on Friday morning and then stay overnight at the Spyglass Inn or another local hotel. You can also book an Airbnb with friends or family!
3. Make a trip of it! Drive up on Thursday and stay overnight at the Spyglass Inn or another hotel or Airbnb and then stay overnight again after the Reception on Friday. Turn our wedding into a mini vacation!
If you're traveling from out of state, here's some options for getting here:
1. Fly into LAX on Thursday, rent a car, and drive up to Shell Beach (approximately 3 1/2 hours from the airport). You'll defintely want to stay overnight on Friday night as well. Drive back down to Los Angeles on Saturday and fly out of LAX.
2. Fly into San Luis Obispo Airport on Thursday. San Luis Obispo airport is approximately 15 minutes away from the Spyglass Inn and you can rent a car or Uber. We recommend that you also stay overnight on Friday night, but you can certainly catch a redeye after the Reception. Ubers will be difficult to find in the sleepy beach town but if you rent a car, you should be good.
3. Fly into Santa Barbara Airport on Thursday. Santa Barbara is about an hour from the Spyglass Inn. We recommend that you stay overnight on Friday night as well and fly out of Santa Barbara on Saturday.

Yes...you can stay at our wedding venue! Stay till last call and walk over to your room to crash after the Reception. The views alone are worth the price. The hotel is on top of the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Walk out onto the pathways and see dolphins and whales out across the water. Relax at the fire pits at the end of night and enjoy the ocean breezes. The restaurant is amazing. You can enjoy breakfast or lunch out on the patio or a drink at the bar with locals.
This is our discounted Wedding Block Rate for King Room or 2 Queens. Ocean View Rooms are a bit more expensive and you can upgrade when making your reservation. Feel free to call and book your room instead and ask for the Davis/Ilger Room rate.
A lot of family, as well as the bride and groom, will be staying here so make it a family affair and catch breakfast or a stroll along the cliffs with us while you’re in town.
