Mishell and Dylan first met in 2014 when they were both in college. They hung out a few times and even did a 5K Color Run together (there's a picture of it somewhere).

After years of not talking except for the occasional snap, Mishell and Dylan ran into each other again in 2021 in good old downtown Fargo (Fort Knox to be exact!). This has become jokingly known as "The Reconnect." Shortly after they went on their first date to Kobe's.
