While taking an Applied Electrical Theory class at Virginia Tech, Mitchell and Beatrice met in a student-run Discord group doing homework with others in an audio chat. They were so impressed with each other's algebraic abilities that they kept talking for hours after and decided to talk again soon. They only knew each other by voice for weeks, but it was love at first nodal analysis. One could say it was electric.
Beatrice, who worked for an engineering consulting firm called Burns & McDonnell, was living in a lovely place to live in Norfolk while Mitchell finished his five-year program at Virginia Tech. The house was ideally located - not too close to the city, and not too far from the beach. The property had pear trees, blueberry bushes, cherry trees, and even a fig tree, making it somewhat of a hidden paradise. However, a few months into the summer, Mitchel received orders to move to Alaska. The couple decided to take a two-week road trip with all their belongings and settle in North Pole, Alaska right next to Santa's house. Beatrice and Mitchell are now looking forward to their first summer in Alaska and to experiencing the beautiful mysterious land of the midnight sun.
Oh did I forget to answer this one? Spoiler alert, she said yes.
Well, it was a Saturday like any other. And Mitchell had been planning to propose to Beatrice for quite some time anyways. Mitchell was impressed by Beatrice's loving, caring, and driven nature. She is smart and awesome, and exactly what Mitchell needs in his forever. He loves Beatrice and wants to spend the rest of his life with her because she is amazing. His words, not mine, she wrote.
For her entire life, Beatrice had a fascination and enjoyment for puzzle boxes. Mitch had found one that he knew she would love and placed the ring inside. Beatrice awoke that Saturday morning and immediately noticed the puzzle box on the coffee table. Thinking Mitchell had simply gotten the box as a gift for her, she immediately started fiddling with it as he watched. She quickly solved it to find a ring that had fallen out onto her lap. He knelt in front of her and asked her to marry him. She said yes.
