We started talking about marriage a few months ago. I'm a firm believer in "when you know, you just know". We never really had awkward moments even in the beginning. Justin and I just sort of clicked from that first conversation on Facebook messenger. I really wasn't sure that I could ever find anyone that I feel so much "at home" with as I do with him.

Originally we agreed that he would wait until after the first of the year to pop the big question. Here recently I jokingly (ok, not so much jokingly) told him that he could go ahead and ask whenever he was ready. He told me he would ask when he was ready to ask….two years from now. Two years from now is what he always said. He didn't even want to joke about it. So, I just put it in the back of my mind as much as I could.

Little did I know that this was all a part of his plan.

On Wednesday, October 19, he asked if I wanted to up to Palisades after work to just relax and clear our minds for a little while. Of course, I said yes. I love Palisades. He stopped by the shop to pick me up and we headed that way. When we got out of the car he was texting and I was getting aggravated just ready for him to come on already. I walked on ahead a little ways thinking he has long legs and it would only take him a few steps to catch up with me. When he did he had a gift wrapped in Christmas paper in his hands. He said it was a late birthday gift and that was the only paper they had at the office.

We walked up to the gazebo and sat down. I had no idea what I was about to open. Most of you have probably seen the video but if you haven't…I opened the cutest scrapbook that began with the picture from our first date and ended with "will you marry me?". When I looked up from that page Justin was down on one knee with ring in hand and asked the big question. My heart and mind were racing in a million different directions. It took me a minute to process the situation and realize that this was really happening.

I later found out that this was all planned out. Justin had asked my parents, gotten help from my friends, and had picked the ring up while we were out for my birthday and I never had a clue.

I couldn't have asked for a sweeter more heart felt proposal. I sure do love this man and the way he loves me.
