Our Wedding

Our story began like I'm sure many have in our generation...on Facebook. Justin sent me a friend request and a "like" followed here and there. I had no clue who he was but I assumed he wasn't a serial killer since he worked for Alpine. After the first few "likes" I started thinking to myself, mmhmm, I wonder when he is going to message me. It took a few weeks but he finally did. Justin said it was after we both posted similar pictures. I later found out that our mutual friends Kara and Courtney had put the bug in his ear to send me the friend request. When Justin messaged me, I honestly just assumed that he wanted a haircut, but he started with small talk.. A few messages in he was pretty straight forward and asked me if I would like to have dinner sometime. I really appreciated that. Our first date was to a Baron's game. If you know me at all, you know that I know nothing about sports. Our friends Courtney and BreAnna went with us. That made it wayyyyy less awkward. The rest is really history. We began to get to know each other and I have learned so much about myself and Justin over the last six months. I do believe I learn more and love more each day!

Our Story: Her Version

That is a day I will never I forget. Birmingham Barons…Region Field….Thursday night. Earlier in the week I had asked Molly out for a date. Nervous would be an understatement. I knew that I couldn't do it alone so I asked my good friend Courtney to come with us. That would help us avoid the awkward silent moments that sometimes come along with first dates. Thursday had rolled around and while sitting in Robbie's office waiting on Molly to arrive at the office so we could head over to Courtney's house, I sat and talked with Robbie and told him how nervous I was. As we walked outside when I first saw Molly walking toward me I knew at that moment she was the one. She just now recently found out that at that moment I knew I would marry her. That smile she has just lights up my world. I could be having a bad day and as soon as she smiles my problems go away. We get in the car and head to Courtney's and there were no awkward silent moments, just constant talking in the car. All night long was filled with constant conversations. On the way back home I asked if she wanted to go grab something to eat before we both went our ways and of course she said yes. Where else could we go at 11:00 at night in Oneonta than Huddle House. Yes Huddle House for a first dinner date! As the night ended I have never been much happier then I was that night. I knew one day that we would end up being married and here we are engaged. I still just love looking over at her on the couch and smiling at her. Sometimes it annoys her and I can just count my blessings to have her in my life. She has no idea how much she means to me and the positive impact she has had in my life. I love Molly McDonald so much.

Our Story: His Version

We started talking about marriage a few months ago. I'm a firm believer in "when you know, you just know". We never really had awkward moments even in the beginning. Justin and I just sort of clicked from that first conversation on Facebook messenger. I really wasn't sure that I could ever find anyone that I feel so much "at home" with as I do with him.Originally we agreed that he would wait until after the first of the year to pop the big question. Here recently I jokingly (ok, not so much jokingly) told him that he could go ahead and ask whenever he was ready. He told me he would ask when he was ready to ask….two years from now. Two years from now is what he always said. He didn't even want to joke about it. So, I just put it in the back of my mind as much as I could.Little did I know that this was all a part of his plan. On Wednesday, October 19, he asked if I wanted to up to Palisades after work to just relax and clear our minds for a little while. Of course, I said yes. I love Palisades. He stopped by the shop to pick me up and we headed that way. When we got out of the car he was texting and I was getting aggravated just ready for him to come on already. I walked on ahead a little ways thinking he has long legs and it would only take him a few steps to catch up with me. When he did he had a gift wrapped in Christmas paper in his hands. He said it was a late birthday gift and that was the only paper they had at the office. We walked up to the gazebo and sat down. I had no idea what I was about to open. Most of you have probably seen the video but if you haven't…I opened the cutest scrapbook that began with the picture from our first date and ended with "will you marry me?". When I looked up from that page Justin was down on one knee with ring in hand and asked the big question. My heart and mind were racing in a million different directions. It took me a minute to process the situation and realize that this was really happening. I later found out that this was all planned out. Justin had asked my parents, gotten help from my friends, and had picked the ring up while we were out for my birthday and I never had a clue.I couldn't have asked for a sweeter more heart felt proposal. I sure do love this man and the way he loves me.
