I have been going to Mid City Yacht Club for over a year- mostly Friday nights to visit a friend working the bar. One Saturday I went to visit my brother, Henry, since it was his last night working at Yacht Club. On this particular Saturday Henry was "training" his replacement. This Saturday night was Tye's first day back to work at Yacht club after going back to Ohio to "just pick up a few things." (Almost 10 years ago). After Henry introduced us with the usual "This is my little sister Molly. She'll just sit there and drink tequila until she gets bored and goes home." Tye came back with the smooth line " Well I can flirt with her all night to keep her entertained." Obviously at this point Henry grabbed him by the shoulder and told him to work the opposite side of the bar with a quick, decisive "Nope!"

Lucky for me, Henry's warning went in one ear and out the other.

One fateful Thursday morning in late February 2024 when my friend was working a cover shift and I happened to have a rare morning off, I walked in and found Tye was the only other person in the bar.

Since that morning there have been far and few days that we haven't spoken or been together.

"When you find your best friend and person for life, you just know." A phrase I always believed was B*llsh*t

... And then I met Tye.
