San Miguel Chapel, is a Spanish colonial mission church in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Originally built around 1610, it is often referred to as the oldest church in the United States.
Built in 1878, legend states the Sisters of the Chapel prayed to St. Joseph, the patron saint of carpenters, and a man appeared who insisted upon building a circular staircase and refused any payment. When he had completed the staircase, he left and was never seen again. The staircase remains as his masterful and intriguing legacy, designed with no visible means of support despite its two complete 360-degree turns.
About 30 minutes North of Santa Fe lies the historical village community of Chimayó, New Mexico. Known as "the Lourdes of North America," the Santuario de Chimayó is one of the most sacred pilgrimage places on the continent. Each year, thousands make pilgrimage to the Santuario with prayers to remove their suffering.
This route features a nice and steady uphill that winds up a series of switchbacks to reach Picacho Peak. While there are great views the entire way, the grand view is from the peak with astonishing 360-degree views. There is a mix of sun and shade along the way, but it is suggested to bring sun protection as well as plenty of water on your journey.

Atalaya Mountain in Santa Fe National Forest is a popular hike offering incredible views outside Santa Fe, New Mexico. The short day hike starts at the Atalaya Mountain trailhead parking lot at St. John’s College. Take Saint John’s Trail #174 to Atalaya Trail #174. Once you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with incredible 360-degree views. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen during the warmer months.

Sun Mountain offers a short, sweet, steep 1.6-mile hike leading to stunning views of Santa Fe’s unforgettable sunrises and sunsets adorned with warm hues stretching across the New Mexico sky.

This trail is a peaceful hidden gem nestled in a residential area. The incline is gradual and leads to breathtaking views. Since parking is limited, it's recommended to arrive early to secure a spot.
